Read moreSo I had their food for the first time yesterday. First and foremost my cousins food was delicious but for a take out order they only gave him 3 pieces of beef stew and it was 14.50 I didn’t think that was fair for 3 pieces …. Then I got there at 6:35pm and didn’t leave till 7:50pm I was waiting all that time . Then they ran out of food !! They had NO BAKE CHICKEN .! So I ended up getting the fried chicken and it was good but some reason when I got home there was no top on the chicken which I thought was weird ….. but anyways so let’s go to my Pernil with mofongo …. So I don’t know if mofongo was suppose to be hard but when I got home my mofongo was extremely hard even putting the sauce on the mofongo it was still hard so all honesty I didn’t enjoy it because it was extremely hard and it was a disappointment for my first time coming . We also got an order of rice and beans and literally I had NO BEANS !!!! I barely had beans it was just the juice of the beans so I WAS HIGHLY UPSET ABOUT THAT because they should have just told me they didn’t have beans because I didn’t even get to enjoy the beans…. Me or my cousin . My experience I would say it was alright I wish for me spend 75.00 dollars I wish I had a better experience especially with the food …. I just felt like since it was the end of the night and they ran out of food I got like the end of the food like basically scraps because like I said I didn’t get beans and my mofongo was hard . Hopefully next time if I decide to go here I will have a better experience then the one I had tonight.
I wish I can get my 75.00 dollars back because the food that I got for 75.00 it was not worth it at all to pay that for the food that I got.
If there is anyway I can get my money back I will greatly appreciate it but I don’t think I’ll be coming to this place anymore cause my first experience was...
Read moreI'll stay neutral on this restaurant. I came here after seeing a post on Facebook about this location. It was a few months after the original owner Adela has passed away. Her daughter in law and son took over the business.
I had high expectations and wanted so much to come here. I had this place saved on my Google maps. So one day I was in the area and had to make a stop. Not sure if it was because they had just opened for the day or if was just a bad day for staff but I didn't feel the welcome mat placed out. As a Puerto Rican myself, we are some of the most friendly, outgoing people you may meet as a culture in whole, not everyone but most are. Don't get me wrong, we also have our days that just want to be left alone, just like most people and we have a few bad apples as well. Yet as a business, that should never be part of your restaurant model or attitudes.
After reading a few comments about how this establishment has changed after the original owner passed away. I would have really liked to have met the woman who this restaurant was named after, Ms Adela herself. If you read more of the lower ratings comments, you'll notice that they are coming in more lately due to the new ownership. It mostly has to do with staff missing the point of friendliness and customer service.
I think the food prices are on the higher end. I mean I live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and have a few different Puerto Rican, Dominican and even Spanish Chinese restaurant around the area that serve up also good food for lesser prices. This restaurant inside is a bit small to be sitting and eating at. I can add, the little food I did order was very good. Yet as for me, I came, I tried it but I see no reason or need to come back again. I personally was very...
