As if to remind me that this is the absolute best Boost Store to go to, I got a follow-up service call from them last month to check on my service! Bill had fixed my activation issues and the problem I had with slow internet had resolved itself. The staff and the owner do such a splendid job I wanted to give them another shoutout!
Old Review: This is the Boost store to go to if you are in NYC. Avoid the Clinton store and also the 197D Madison one. You want real service, don't you? The employees here are kind, helpful and don't act like sleazy salespeople denigrating those who may not want or can afford expensive phones and plans merely for bling cred. Having the worst luck in the past 3 weeks with ordering 2 phones and services, I left Boost to go to Mint(bad phone--buyer beware, they sell phones online that don't pick up 4G well in NYC, bad coverage, friendly online people), then went back to Boost. I had my account activated again at this store only to be told by the horrific ONLINE Boost service people that my account had never been activated and yet could not tell me why I could make calls and text but could not be set up for voice mail. I had ported my number back from Mint. I had my account activated in store the day before by the patient Timothy and with help by the knowledgeable Silver and knew it had been activated so I honestly don't know what happened. Did Timothy forget to do something? I don't know but I would just have gone back and have him correct it because he was a decent, hard-working, friendly person. I don't think he erred because Silver helped him and she was the all-around Boost expert who floated among stores. Everything else worked! I called the next day after stressful calls with Boost online and got Leo. He is another terrific employee who actually cares about the customer, and gave me a workaround solution the first time I had come into the store. He is honest and has no problems saying that Bill the owner is the guru on all tough problems. He advised me to return the phone ASAP to Boost as they would give me difficulty, after I had told him that initially Timothy had problems activating the sim Boost had sent to me. Leo thought they had sent me a used phone, esp. since someone else's number was in the voice mail. So much for buying a new phone online. Well, after speaking with 3 customer service online people(2 reps just left the phone call because they couldn't solve the issue)about my account, I was more than livid. I told all the reps, I had a receipt, a date, and time, and they still acted as if I had never activated the phone. I even told the last rep I had set up an online account the day prior. Well, all that information was gone! No account was in the Boost system and yet I could still make phone calls. The last phone call was one hour with a rep who tried to change their refund policy(I was well within the 7 day refund period but she insisted that since this was a special situation and claimed that since the store people had never activated the phone, I could not get a refund for the phone), I was able to get an RA number. Apparently they realized my credit card company would honor the refund because I was within the period. So now I have a phone number in limbo, and no phone. I had to pay to ship the phone back, understandably can't get a refund for the service plan, and hope I can at least get a refund for the activation portion. After all that, I would recommend this store to anyone. If you want genuine, down to earth people who try their best to service, come to this store for your needs and pray that you never have to deal with the online...
Read moreI avoid going to retail phone stores because the people there have always reminded me of pushy, obnoxious, used car salesmen. Bill, the owner, and as he says, the all around worker at this store, is helpful, professional, and service oriented--in other words, he knows what is important to getting and keeping customers. It's a shame I didn't come here before one week of endless phone calls to Boost's customer service and wretched service at the 197 Madison store(the people there said they never heard of this promo but this store, and the NJ City one ran out of phones because of it) that made me decide to switch carriers--over their free phone promo and an upgrade that is being forced on people. Bill actually returns phone calls and does follow-up, answers your questions and explains things. Too bad I made contact with him after I decided I had it with Boost. f you are in New York and still with Boost, I would recommend this store, or it is not convenient, for you to go over to the Pavonia Mall in NJ to work with Kiara at the Boost retail store there. Bill is the Boost Man in New...
