This place does not do a good job and the staff (especially the owner Angie and the only male that works there). Within 4 days of getting dip with gel polish, my nails were chipping. Went to fix them and was consistently told it was my fault and met with annoyance. They fixed my nails begrudgingly but instead of just repainting them, they added even more layers of polish after i repeatedly said that it's just gonna make them peel more because it'll be too thick. After a half ads job fixing them, I left. 3 DAYS LATER one of my nails broke and the polish started chipping again. (Surprise surprise). I went to the nail salon yesterday to explain how unacceptable this was but before even going there, I called. Angie (the owner) picked up and told me to come in numerous times. I came in and she smiled until I showed her my nails (the nails she knew she messed up) and she not only started raising her voice at me and speaking over me, she acted like she didn't know me. She said she would not be fixing my nails at all and when I asked her how much I had to pay, then she started talking again. She repeated if you want to fix your nails, you have to pay. Which I had no problem with but her attitude, assumption I wasn't going to pay and blatant disrespect and racism is something I WILL NOT stand for. I won't be going to this salon again and if you're a black wonan especially, do not go. If it were a white woman coming in with a complaint, she wouldn't have dared to disrespect her like that. They put on fake smiles there but they are very rude people who do a poor job! Go somewhere else and get your moneys worth. I'd also like to add I've been a loyal customer for a year and this is how they treated me. Disgusting. They also do not clean their tools which I discovered my last time going there (thank God)! And that's why people have commented about getting fungus and infections. The good reviews are FAKE! They are not...
Read moreI went to the M & W Nail Salon to remove my acrylic nails and I have to say it was extremely unprofessional. The lady took one of my nails off with a Metrocard and the acrylic nail came off WITH my natural nail!! The worst part is that she somehow cut herself in the process of it and her blood was dripping on my exposed nail. UNSANITARY!! She did it on the next finger as well and that's when I realized my nail was bleeding. I told her that my nail was hurting and bleeding and she rolled her eyes at me!! She didn't even apologize or anything. She starts using the nail drill on my nails and apparently she has no clue what she's doing because she cut me multiple times. Then she expected me to dip my bleeding fingers into a bowl of acetone!! When I told her that it was burning she completely ignored me. I think the worst part is when she asked me to tip her after all that terrible service. When I told her I didn't want to tip she started getting upset with me so I just tipped a dollar. Now my natural nails are completely ruined thanks to this salon and it'll take months for it to grow back to normal. I wouldn't go back there even if...
Read moreThe people were really nice. I went at 4pm on a weekday (maybe a Wednesday) and was in a chair as soon as I walked in which was very convenient. TBH though, I wouldn't go back. The coffin shape I asked for was done masterfully, but bro laid on the acrylic THICK, didn't smooth it out very well, and didnt push it close enough to my cuticles so it looked like I had gotten my nails done a week before, like they already started growing out. He also did this weird thing to my cuticles where he "cut them", but in reality, he just ripped at them, so now they look raggedy... 3 starts because I know they did their best and some people would probably accept this. The pics were taken today, about 5 days after I got them done, they look like they were applied...
