Cestra's Bakery — Restaurant in New York

I was on my way to Long Island in the early morning when fatigue and hunger got the better of me. I decided to fuel up on caffeine and carbs before making the trip and pulled off at the Randall Ave exit on route to the TNB. I was feeling like some Red Bull and a BLT but opted for some pastries and coffee when I spotted the bakery. As I walked through the door my eyes immediately caught sight of some delicious cheese danishes. Since most cheese danishes I encountered in the past were light on the cheese, I decided to order two. I decided on French vanilla coffee instead of Red Bull. I hustled back to the car and took one bite of the danish and got the surprise of my life, it was stuff with cheese and had a pineapple glaze. I have never encountered this much cheese in a danish my entire life. One danish would have done the trick. I eat the other one for breakfast the following morning and it was still delicious. The coffee was also quite good as well as the counter service. If you love beefy cheese danishes, you owe yourself the pleasure of eating one from Cestra's Bakery. You totally won't be disappointed. I ordered a cake for my daughter (5) and sons (1) birthday this past week. I told them I wanted one half purple/girlish and one half green/boyish. The woman taking the order offered that they can be creative with the decorations as i didn’t have anything specific in mind really. Im lenient, I would’ve been fine with some flowers on one side and a baseball /football on one side honestly. I did mention the theme was mermaid and “wild one” jungle for their birthdays but also mentioned the decor didn’t have to be this theme. I picked it up up Saturday and there was absolutely no decorations on the cake?!!!!!!! This cake was $100?!!!! For what?!!!!!! I told them there was no decorations and they said “well you weren’t specific.” Uhm, I said I wanted decor in girl and boy theme … they literally didn’t even decorate it? This morning on xmas day, myself and another loyal frequent customer were waiting patiently outside in the cold waiting for the bakery to open. Noone was opening the door so I looked on their website to double check the hours. It clearly said opens at 6 am (xmas hours). So I called, this guy picks up, I explain to him that were waiting for the doors to open, he says they don't open until 8am, I said that's not what your site says, he states "they must've not updated it". I said ok well can you just let us in, we don't want any special orders, we just want a toasted roll and coffee cake. He very rudely says listen I can't do that, then sarcastically he says "you wanna come behind the counter and get it yourself". I said if I could I would, needles to say, I'm disgusted on how we were treated, how I was spoken too by this guy and the fact that it's Xmas and he couldn't accommodate us.
