Champion Pizza Clinton — Restaurant in New York

On my recent trip back to New York I had a list of several restaurants I wanted to try and CSP was one of them. However, I was so busy during the days that by the time I was ready to grab some dinner, the place was closed. However, on the day I was leaving town, my wife suggested that we run in have some lunch before we head to the airport. Boy, am I glad we did.

When I first walked in, I was amazed at how welcoming Steve and his crew were. He kind of made me feel like family and when he said that I was about to have the best "Bronx" pizza, I felt like I was talking to my family who are actually from the Bronx. Anyhow, once I figured out what we were gonna have I placed the order and couldn't believe how affordable it was. The pizza came out piping hot and looked great. Steve confessed that he made a mix up with the pizza and to apologize he gave us two extra slices on the house and some knots. He certainly did not have to do that, but that little touch of hospitatility says a lot, and to me it s a big deal.

We tore through our meal and all of us loved it. Even my youngest who isn't particularly the biggest fan of pizza kept saying how great it was. From the service to the food, and all stops in between, CSP was awesome. I highly recommend it and the next time I am back in NY, I know that this foodie will be stopping by to eat the "best Bronx pizza" I ever had and say hi to Steve...

NEW PEOPLE TERRIBLE SERVICE. I USED TO GO THERE EVERYDAY AND ALWAYS BOUGHT THE SAME SANDWICH EVERYDAY. I WAS ALWAYS TREATED LIKE A HUMAN BEING. THE NEW GUY BEHIND THE COUNTER IS RUDE AND WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE PREVIOUS GUY THAT WORKED THERE HE TOLD ME TO MIND MY BUSINESS. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO ORDER MY USUAL SANDWICH BUT IT WAS MADE WRONG. I ASKED FOR A CHICKEN PARMIGIANA SANDWICH & HE MADE IT WITH GRILLED CHICKEN. WHEN I COMPLAINED HE TOLD ME TO TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. SAD BECAUSE THIS USED TO BE MY FAVORITE PLACE. THE NEW...

Have yet to try the pizza (next time) but was really in the mood for eggplant parmesan sandwich and wings and this was the closest place that had both.

The eggplant parm was one of the best i've ever had...great ratios of everything; bread, sauce, cheese, and eggplant. Will definitely order again sometime.

The wings were also a solid effort with a bit of crispness to the skin. I'd like a bit more sauce personally but they weren't dry by any means.

Definitely will be back to try the pizza soon which...
