Rooted in NYC with 7 pizzerias, Hakki Akdeniz, the owner and founder of Champion Pizza, customizes pizzas based on the neighborhood. Located just a walk down from the N train station in Astoria, my cousin and I came today to their Ditmars establishment for a quick bite while running an errand. The cozy interior with six tables has just the right amount of classy atmosphere, with stunning photos and articles on the wall about how great this business is. It offers 35 different styles of pizza, way beyond the number that most shops sell. We decided on a slice of the Margarita Pesto (homemade marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, pesto sauce, olive oil, and fresh basil) and Bacon & Pineapple (homemade marinara sauce, bacon, pineapple, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, olive oil, and fresh parsley). The square slices were just absolutely amazing in crunch, flavor, and freshness, made with all natural organic ingredients. The price was favorable, and the staff was friendly. We can recommend this place.

This is my favorite pizza store in the entire tri-state area. I’ve been here multiple times and every time I am here the service is always magnificent. The food is always consistent with the texture, taste, and freshness. I has a pleasant atmosphere and I absolutely love seeing the photos on the wall of all the celebrities that have come here to try their World famous pizza! This company is a company that was built by an immigrant who had the American dream. More importantly, after achieving the American dream he still remained the simple and humble person that he was when he first came to this country. His financial success and fame did not change him. It just enabled him to be able to help others who are currently in the situation that he was in when he first came to this country. Do yourself a favor and come to Champion pizza to have the best slice of pizza you’ll ever have and simultaneously to enable to company to be able to continue helping others in need

I’ve always walked by and finally decided to try! I loved the decor and I went in the night and there was only one customer eating but everytime I’ve walked by the pizzeria is always busy! I got insight from one of the staff members about certain slices and they all looked wayyyy too good! My brother went with a regular slice and I went with one of their famous grands slices, pepperoni slices and garlic knots. I enjoyed the pizza but I was disappointed when I got my garlic knots and they weren’t even warmed up. I didn’t even get to enjoy them when I sat down to eat them. Next time I go I will def. dine in and enjoy more of their slices! Till next time! 🍕

It was grand opening!!!! then we try absolutely Hands down the best pizza in astoria area-quite possibly the New York Area. know that's a big claim, but being born and raised in the city and having tried literally hundreds of places, I have yet to find a better pizzeria for the classic piece experience. Their margarita pie and other five different slices we try is out of this world! The deliciously sweet tomatoes and the freshly grated cheese that's imported from Italy! This place uses the finest ingredients to make all of there pizzas! This place also makes you sense history of a young man that same to America and made a change with no eduction & no money. I saw he’s story on Discovery Channel the documentary was unbelievable my daughter really she cry a lot, His dedication to his talent is truly sensed when walking into this beautiful decorated atmosphere! His story inspired me to believe in myself and know that you always have to give 100% in what you love and the rest will come. Thank you "Hakki" and the "Champion Pizza Family"for opening new pizza shop in my neighborhood this great for this...

This was the worst experience i have ever had ordering food in Astoria. Ordered a square NYC pizza (meatballs and pepperoni). They sent the wrong pizza (an undercooked cheese pizza) to the wrong address..I called and then they sent a new pizza...again, the wrong one, again, sent to the wrong address. They sent a redbell pepper, sausage and pepperoni w carmelized onion and the pepperoni was not even cooked!!!! I CANNOT EAT SAUSAGE. I call again and speak to someone whose accent was so thick i could not understand anything he was saying, something about they have no meatballs...only ground beef (so take it off the app/menu!!!!!) I hang up, get another call from a different guy who was even more difficult to understand. I asked for my money back, he aaid no because i ordered it through SLICE. And he raised his voice to memand was incredibly rude. So now, after tipping 20%, i did not get what i paid for ($31.95) and am eating potato chips for dinner. Hopefully SLICE will get me my money back (not likely). Never ordering from here again. Absolute...
