Been here many times and will probably go back. The bagels are good. But big fail this morning. They’re supposed to open at 6:00. I get there right at 6:00 as I have a train to catch. It’s closed but the manager signals me that it’ll just be 1 minute. No problem.
I wait about 7 minutes along with another customer outside. Some other man shows up and is let in, though the manager promptly locks the door behind him and tells us yet again that it’ll just be “one more minute.” The two of them chat inside for a few minutes, then get their own bagels and sit down at the counter to eat them. We’re now at about 6:15. I left.
I get it. Stuff happens and sometimes the opening needs to get pushed back a bit. Employees call in sick, there are issues in the kitchen, etc. But don’t keep telling people that it’ll “just be one more minute” when you clearly have no intentions or ability to get even close to that. If he had simply said “hey guys, we had some issues this morning & we’ll be about 20 mins late,” it would’ve been fine. I’d have gone elsewhere today & come back here another time. If I didn’t have a train to catch, I’d have probably just waited. But give us the courtesy of letting us decide how to spend our time instead of stringing us along like...
Read moreVery fresh and good bagels like most NYC bagel shops, but this place has got to start listening. The last two times I was there, my order was messed up.
The first time, I received an onion bagel with cream cheese and I thought I must have grabbed another customer’s order by mistake. I stayed away for a while because they don’t open til 7. So I go back there after 4/5 months and I ordered an everything with butter again and I’m the only one in the shop. I Get back to the office, open it, and it’s an everything, but it’s got cream cheese instead of butter.
This place isn’t cheap. I think $7.08 was what I paid for an everything bagel with butter and a large coffee. Their bagels are fresh and the shop is nice, but they have to work on customer service here. I know it’s a quiet second Avenue place, but some of us work in the area and don’t have much...
Read moreFirst of all, THE BAGELS ARE SUPER FRESH AND DELISHHH! I stumbled upon this shop when I worked in the area about 4 years ago. A former coworker turned me on to their baked salmon on a bagel. It was sooo good. I told everyone in the office and next thing you know every morning they'd be out of the baked salmon before 9am... that's how good it is. Since that time I've changed jobs and couldn't remember the name of the shop but I'm still in the area so I decided to google "bagel shop on corner of 2nd Avenue and 43rd street." Lo and behold they were the first hit. I ordered bagels for the office so they too can taste these fresh bagels. FYI I am not a fan of bagels, however, Chelsea Bagel of Tudor City bagels are fresh and soft they DO NOT...
