I really enjoyed Chloe's! The food was amazing -- Started with akra and Henny chicken wings for apps. They were great. Ordered the boulette & my husband ordered griot Fritay. We arrived late on a Friday, so we didn't wanna eat anything heavy.
When I say the marinade was the best I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating. It melted in your mouth as soon as you bit into it, and still retained the spice level you expect from marinade. The boulette was so good too. I ordered it cause, it's a Haitian dish thats made to stretch meat, by economically adding bread to it. So I expected the texture & flavor that I grew up eating and was judging the restaurant off this underrated dish alone. Was not disappointed. Literally perfect portions of 3 large boulette, delicately fried exterior & moist soft and flavored interior. We both thoroughly enjoyed the texture of our respective dishes, the flavors were hitting, and the drinks were stronger! Bartenders were great, and I enjoyed seeing them commune with the bar patrons too. Our server was nice, attentive and kept us hydrated! The ambiance of the restaurant was nice too, very colorful & not obnoxiously so. I will say, my pet peeve was that the drinks menu in person or online, did not have prices on them. I think it can be interpreted as dishonest if patrons aren't aware of the prices of the drinks prior to ordering, or a worry of the price changing at any day or table. However, the drinks we ordered from the special drinks menu were $15 each and that's an average, expected price, so no worries at the end of the dining experience. There was some audio issues too, but the staff was very quick to resolve it and the music choice was really nice and fit the restaurant - Haitian & other Caribbean/Afrobeats artists. I liked the wooden sculptures hanging off the walls too! My husband and I will definitely be back to Chloe's, especially since they have so much programming and specials for the certain days — Brunch here we come! Their Diri djon djon is on our horizon, I just wanna know when that chef from our visit is on the clock! I'm confident the bigger dishes will be as delicious as the bites we had for our first time there. Late night lounge in the back is soooooo spacious btw. Like wow, what a gem right...
Read moreWe went there on a Saturday, 8/14. They were very busy. It took us 10 minutes to get seated. When we did get seated, a server came and took our order for drinks. She then came back to say the server that came was new and she would be taking our order. She took the order and 30 minutes later never came back! I went up to the bar to inquire about what happened to our drinks order, and the server never came back. The lady, which she said was new, apologized and said she would get her. 10 minutes later, now 45, she finally came and apologized and brought us our drinks. I was very disappointed. I understand it was busy, and they had a large party they were catering to. However, 45 minutes to wait to be assisted is unacceptable for an established establishment like this .Maybe she should have allowed the new colleague to assist her. In the end, she did bring the food out quickly. However, our experience was already set from the first interaction. I suggest staffing more on weekends, especially if you are having a large party and still have to serve other guests! Understand that we all have choices and choose to come to your establishment and was disappointed with the...
