They have outdoor dining which was what made us stop here for some drinks. The outdoor space has heaters and separates different groups which was nice. Tons of beer selection both bottles/cans and draft. They had gluten free beer which was nice. If we wanted to drink we had to order a food item so we got the Red Devil. Said it came with chips and cornichons but in reality it was just a handful of chips (willing to overlook that). In total we got 6 beers, 4 drafts and 2 cans. No real complaints until I saw the itemized receipt today. I was charged a $2 corkage fee TWICE so total of $4 (assuming for the 2 beer cans).
There was no signage about this charge posted anywhere in the store or menu! It was beer cans not wine and we opened the beer cans ourselves. They didn't even open it. We bought the cans at the store. They didn't even tell us. I found out when I looked at my receipt.
Literally a scam! There's another person who mentioned this scam. Wish I saw that person's comment because I would not have came here. Was actually going to come back here since I work in the area but...
Read moreI went here with full intent of buying beer that they POST online has having. Come to find out that they generally have what they post BUT surprise!! Its NOT all for sale. The employees who, both were nice had to call the owner to get approval to sell certain beers. Just so happens he did not want to sell one of the three bottles he had to me. What a Great business practice advertising so many beers and posting what they are just to be told you cant buy them! Buyer beware dont go with hopes of buting what you see posted. Maybe the owner should keep his personal collection off the website if he is not willing to part with it. FALSE ADVERTISING at its finest. Did not eat the food but it looked good. And yes they do charge $2 per beer even cans if you want to drink them there, however I was made aware of that...
Read moreI hate to admit this…but is this my FAVORITE beer place in the city. From the melts (grilled cheese) to the pretzels, oh and not to mention the tots (bruh), and let’s not forget why we’re here: THE BEER. This place is outstanding. They rotate their taps (I think somewhere around 17) all the time, so you’re able to try all kinds of beer on draught when usually you would have to resort to the can or the bottle. I won’t lie, I try as many as I can each time I visit. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and can make really good recommendations.
I really don’t want more people crowding my favorite spot, but do yourself a favor and visit City Beer. Whether it be for a drink to catch up with with friend, decompress after work, or first date; this is the appropriate place! If I could give 6 stars, I...
