Really wanted to love this place given that it’s conveniently located right in front where I live. Where should I even start? My friend and I (who also lives nearby) visited dagny last week and had a very interesting experience. We sat down and after 20 min without being acknowledge, my friend proceeds to the bar where the staff is too busy chitchatting among themselves. She was only told by the lady bartender “ the server will be right with you” no urgency whatsoever. 15 min pass by and this time I decided to confront the staff myself. I explain how we were sitting there for about half an hour and we didn’t even had menus. The young server apologized for confusing us with being part of a larger group sitting next to us and rapidly gets to our table. Drinks where average, took a long time to get to us. Mind you this place had only 3 tables and 4 staff members. The craziest part is that after placing our food order, the server comes back after 20-25 min saying that the pasta is frozen and the kitchen would take long to cook it??? I mean, what does that even mean??? Couldn’t we get informed of that earlier and choose something else and how long does it even takes to defrost a small portion of pasta. Also, why are you telling me that what you serve frozen food. INSANE! We wasted almost 2 hours at this mediocre place for 2 drinks. They offered a free cheesecake which we took, walking outside the restaurant I realize only one set of silverware was provided. WE WERE TWO PEOPLE. Lastly, ambiance wise— the music kept going off and the lights are too bright for dinner, doesn’t really give a dining/restaurant vibe. It feels more like a cafe all day long. I would suggest coaching the staff better on how to transition from a cafe to a...

Solid neighborhood spot for coffee, drinks and breakfast. I have been here two times, once for breakfast and once for lunch. I love the layout of the space. It is open, airy and lofty. The drinks were average (I've only tried the hot chocolate and matcha). The food was better (I loved my avocado toast with scrambled eggs and my caprese sandwich for lunch). My ONLY gripe with this place is the cleanliness. The floors do not look like they were swept and mopped daily. Since it is such a huge space at first glance it looks clean, however, if you look at the corners there are lots of dust bunnies all over the place and crumbs and stains. I know many people do not notice this, but because of my profession (foodservice manager) I happened to find this rather disturbing. Since floors should be maintained clean--nobody should be eating and drinking around dust. The place is so open that it seems easy to clean--a dyson vaccum could do the trick. Another thing I do not like about this place is the fact that they keep their glass cups on all the tables even when there are no people sitting there. It leads me to believe that dust was collecting inside and some people sit at tables and drink coffee without using those glass cups. It just does not seem sanitary since anyone can be moving/touching the cups, breathing on them and talking over them. I hope the owners read this review since this is important for department of health inspections. Overall, I would return for the food and drinks and maybe try not to look...

I have been a regular customer at Dagny since their opening, and my visits are usually positive and enjoyable. However, I've recently noticed that the atmosphere has become unwelcoming and hostile, particularly with the new female manager.

Recently, I visited & purchased their breakfast set with coffee and sat in the open space. Because the music was loud and I had a quick call, I used the side room since it was unoccupied at that moment. A few seconds later, the female manager walked in with her laptop and started yelling at me for using the room. She insisted that I leave immediately in a very disrespectful manner. I apologized and left right away. She then proceeded to leave after I left and approached the male barista at the front, visibly talking about me and continuing to turn around stare & glare at me throughout.

Her behaviour was not only unprofessional but also created a highly uncomfortable environment for me, prompting me to leave. This encounter made me feel very unwelcome and uneasy. I really enjoyed the space, but after a few negative encounters with the female manager, I will not be...

Let's get into it. We sat down and ordered our matchas and hot coco. About 10 minutes later we order apps and mains. When the "For The Table" apps come, they do not give sharing plates(pictured). This is also for crispy bread and burrata, crumbs and cheese obviously spilling from my bites, so I had to use my napkin as a plate. About halfway through the apps I get my hot cocoa but we are still waiting on 3 matchas. Then our food comes out at various different times, I would like about 10 minutes between the time the first person got their plate and the last(pictured). By the time the first person finished their big breakfast, one my friends goes up to the coffee counter to get our drinks because there is only ONE WAITRESS in the whole place for Sunday brunch. Turns out they made the wrong ones. By the time the matchas got the table, the mains were finished(pictured). We finished our drinks, paid , and left. They comped one matcha, how kind

Best Cafe in New York City. The friendliness of the staff is unparalleled and the customer service is top tier. The barista Andy is always greeting me with a smile on his face and making sure we have the best experience. Having this experience has made me a near every day regular, whether it’s to get my morning chai or just strike some small talk with Andy as he always gets me my usual order. The manager is always also happy greeting customers too and I can tell the place is run with an amazing attitude and quality towards employees and customers alike. Their morning croissants and drinks always provide a cozy wake up and their dinners are phenomenal, especially for the price. I highly recommend to anyone going to try the beef short ribs or the vodka pasta. And definitely don’t forget their special tea-based cocktails!

Beautiful new bar, cafe, and lounge space with amazing views of the waterfront! There's even a small market with packaged foods. This is a great place for any outing, whether it be grabbing a drink or a meal with friends, quietly getting some work done with coffee, or holding a work meeting in their conference room. The green tea margarita ($15) is absolutely a must-try. So delicious, perfectly sweet, and deceptively strong! All of the dishes were amazing as well. The super grain bowl ($15) was packed with texture. The cavatelli ($18) was fresh and cooked perfectly. The braised beef short ribs ($24) were my favorite, SO tender that the meat fell apart, and the sauce was perfect on the mashed potatoes!
