0 stars in real time. My waitress (lets call her Jay) approached our table. No smile. No positive energy whatsoever. Asked what we wanted to drink. I said we'll start with water. We got the water. I asked for hot water for the utensils. We got that. She left for awhile. Cool. She asked for our order. She took my wife's and daughter's order. I told her I needed some more time but I'll take a lil onion loaf in the meanwhile. Then everything went downhill. She walked past us as I waved her down. She kept going. Cool. Maybe she didn't see me. My wife got her attention on the way back. Told I her I was ready to order. With a bleak tone, she told me I would have to wait. Cool. That other table had 6 ppl who probably needed the help. She comes back to the table. Does not make her presence known. My wife had to tell me she was beside me. I placed my order. Now I was fiending for a Texas size Super Tsunami. Like real bad. I waited for to come back so I could order right before my food came. She kept walking past our table. I tried to get her attention again as walked away from her station. Felt totally ignored. That water we got earlier? Never got refilled. At all. She disappeared for a long time and I thought she left for the night, being that NO ONE stopped to ask if we were okay. About 20 mins later, she walks back thru our area. Went to the party of 6 then walked away. Came back thru to greet the new customers that were just seated. Walked away again. Came back and greeted ANOTHER group that was just seated. And I promise you, she didn't stop by to ask we needed anything or to see if we're okay. Nothing. At this point, I am not enjoying myself. My experience is completely ruined. I just wanna bounce and never look back. I go to the bathroom and when I came back, there's trays on my table. I asked my wife if "Jay" actually stopped by the table and she said yes. Wow. I noticed that since we were prepared to leave her voice got louder. Her "thank yous" had some spunk. I hope she has better days, because some ppl eat to comfort their mental health. That experience was counterproductive to that.
-1st time eating out and sitting in a restaurant with my family since the NYC mandates been lifted. -"Jay" came to our table about 5 times in the very beginning. We were there for 1.5 hrs. Poor communication. Never asked us anything. -Never gave us a name. -Never refilled our water. -I never had an opportunity to order my Texas size adult drank. -Ignored the whole time we were there.
My wife told me to leave it alone, but I was truly bother by this. I didn't make any fuss with the waitress. But outside of the gratuity, I did not leave a tip. Can't even say the service sucked because the service was non existence.
Probably never, ever going to visit this location again. In my life.

Read moreI had not been to Dallas BBQ Ribs Chicken and Steaks on Livingston St Fulton since two years ago. The last time I went here was two years ago, after an appointment with my accountant Judith Lainez over at H & R Block on Livingston St in Downtown Brooklyn, Fulton.. The order I placed was a take out order that particular day, I did not dine in. Yesterday I decided to go there to dine in , not to take out. I had run some errands, so I wanted to relax and have a glass of Merlot Wine. Everything on their menu looked so good, so I decided to order my favorite,Mac and Cheese and a order of Chicken Wings to go. I ordered BBQ Texas Style Beef Rib, a Single Rib, as the size of the Ribs looked so big, can only eat one . I ordered a Baked Potato and Corn Bread that comes with the rib. The other choices, were French Fries,, or Yellow Rice. The BBQ Beef Ribs TEXAS STYLE, were so flavorful, so tender , moist inside, not dried or overcooked,. I must say, when the meat slides off the bone, makes me so happy , I am in Heaven. I chose as my sides, a baked potato, that came with portions size cups of butter and "Hood's Sour Cream., and a piece of corn bread. They had two items on the menu , that are my favorites, so I chose to order those to go. I ordered a Half Portion of Texas Style Chicken Wings, (5 pieces), to go.,.and a order of a cup of Mac and Cheese. which is topped with cornbread crumbles and bacon . I sampled a little bit of it , when I got home, it was delicious, the best Mac and Cheese that I have ever had in many years. To conclude , I only had planned to eat my meal and leave within the hour, upon finishing my meal. Due to the ambiance there, the caring staff, and the most excellent food, I ended up staying there two hours. I have worked twenty years and six months for the Port Authority of NY and NJ in the Cafeteria and Kitchen there, am a cooking school grad, so by now I know the way food should be cooked, Food Presentation and just how to run a restaurant and how to treat your customers...on that note this restaurant is worthy of 5 stars and definitely gets a rating of 10 from me. Last but not least my server, Shanazia, is the one most responsible for my wonderful and most enjoyable experience at Dallas BBQ Ribs Chicken and Steaks at the Livingston St Fulton, location. She was friendly, attentive, focused on her customers, and did such a professional job, so glad that she was my server , really makes one have a desire to return there...
Read moreWhen I came here, I did not expect some of the best wings I've ever eaten to be followed by the worst steak I have ever eaten. They serve the type of steak that makes you wonder if you were eating steak-flavored gum since you have to chew for 9 hours. It's the type of steak that is so bland that it demands steak sauce otherwise you couldn't possible get it down your throat without crying.
All hyperboles aside, after not getting the steak cooked medium the first time (it was well-done), it got sent back by our server, Manuel (who was very nice and helpful). About 5 minutes later, I got a steak that was cooked medium-rare. Yes, I could have complained a second time, but I figured I would just take the medium-rare steak home and re-cook it myself. At least I would be able to add salt, pepper, butter, and garlic to it AND I would be able to crisp up their soggy and oily fries. (Side note: Isn't it weird that the fries arrived to the table soggy, oily, and cold, BOTH times?)
Also, I can confirm that after re-heating the fries at home and re-cooking the steak with some salt, pepper, butter, and garlic, they both tasted WAY better. Obviously not 5-star quality, but miles better than what I was served in the restaurant.
The only reason I'm not rating 1-star is because Manuel was a funny guy and willing to help out, but as great as he was, even God himself could not help the cooks make a decent steak. Even if the steak were cooked to the perfect temperature, that would not have solved the problem with the complete lack of flavor. As for the rest of the food, the BBQ chicken and ribs were good as always and the wings were great and served hot. The mac and cheese was also good, but both pieces of cornbread were also cold.
With that being said, I would have rated 3-stars if I wasn't also irritated by the way they serve soft drinks. They serve them either as a small (which is really small) or a large (or it's called Texas-sized or something). No refills, even with the large. I mean, come on. I have NEVER been to a restaurant that doesn't offer free refills on fountain drinks. I don't know how this decision makes sense to Dallas BBQ, but I always find it irritating whenever I visit. Next time, I'll know not to...
