Today the food was okay until I get half way done veggie platter and their is a piece of clear plastic in my food and it was one of those hard pieces of plastic that you would remove from a beverage top. Now I'm not sure if it was in the rice or oxtails because I asked for oxtail gravy over my rice and the piece of plastic was the color of the gravy. I would have taken the platter back but my office is a 10 minute walk away and my lunch hour was over. I'm thankful I saw it but eating it.
The front end employees are a lot female and this one in particular talks to customers as if they should know, their restaurant lingo. The first time was about a month ago I ordered fettuccine alfredo(its on the menu) with oxtail, she informs the kitchen and i wait. My food comes out and it has peppers in it. I said to her "Is that my order?". She stated "yes". i said to her "I ordered alfredo". And she says, "we don't have alfredo only rasta pasta". I said to her "why didn't you tell me that i would have changed my order because i cant have spicy food". she said "its not spicy". and continued to package my food not giving me a chance to change my mind or take in what just happened. today she was giving me a hard time because i asked for 3 sides in a platter together. She says "I'm putting them separate". I kindly asked her if she can put them in a container together. she replies "so you want a veggie platter?!". I'm thinking to myself why is this woman so nasty. They need to hang up signs of their EXACT menu instead of having a bunch of QR Codes around the establishment.
The woman I'm referring to is about 5'4, 5'5 or 5'6", dark complexion with light spots on her face, not sure if it was scarring or she used lightener cream. she is on the thick/heavier side. BAD ATTITUDE
their is another dark skin woman in there and she is tall and slim, she is nice and always helping everyone else. making sure things are running smoothly.
Lastly, my half and half beverage tasted like the inside of a bad refrigerator. I'm not sure if it was the plastic cup or the refrigerator wasn't cleaned out. But it my beverage had a nasty taste to it, like dirty ice...
Read moreI placed my order at 11:49 this morning which included my phone number. My order was supposed to be ready at 11:54. I walked to the restaurant, stood on line only to be told that they didn't have what I ordered. I asked how to cancel so I could order a replacement lunch. The young lady didn't know so I placed another order and proceeded down the line tot he cashier hoping for assistance. Cashier was rude telling me they had no control and that I would have to figure it out or I could just take the fish since they didn't have the bread for the fish sandwich. I explained that I was now faced with being faced with 2 orders because I had ordered a replacement lunch. She continued to be rude telling me that I wasn't listening to her. I explained that I heard her but she wasn't addressing my concern. I asked for the manager and was told that "she's busy in the kitchen" after waiting 10 minutes for the manager to appear. A man came and apologized and told me he was going to buy bread. He was the first and ONLY person to apologize. As I waited for the man to return, the cashier repeatedly talked about me to other customers and I stated this whole situation is poor customer service and the fact that she is talking about me makes matters worse. The man returned 20-30 minutes later and apologized for his delay. A server packed my food but she failed to provide a fork. When I asked the rude lady for a fork, she asked me "isn't there a fork in the bag"? I stated no, I wouldn't ask for a fork if I had one., She made me wait for the server who packed my food to give me a fork after she told her to give me a fork. The server gave me a fork and then the server apologized. The manager never came out. I spent my ENTIRE lunch hour waiting for my food. What is the purpose of taking a phone number and email address if there is no communication with the customer when an order can't be fulfilled? Why should a custoer be mistreated and ridiculed by a worker for wanting the food they ordered and assistance to cancel an order? What establishment has no means o provide assistance? What type of manager doesn't come out to address...
Read moreOriginally I went to the one on Halsey St the first time and it was VERY good. I decided to try the one downtown brooklyn and after such a bad experience there; I won't be going back to ANY location. I am actually done with the entire chain of restaurants because it's just not that good nor worth any further future disappoint. The cashier girl at the one at this location has a nasty attitude and lacks basic customer service. Shes dark skin and sounded hatian, her hair was a nappy mess under the hair net and her entire demeanor was rude. I ordered 2 fish sandwiches that were over fried, hard and lacked any basic salt and pepper. The first few bites in the car gave me and my husband immediate stomach issues. That fish was no good and shouldn't be served to anyone. I ordered a small 4 oxtail plate for $17 which was tougher then my winter ugg boots. Those oxtails were an embarrassment to any real Jamaican, they were completely inedible and chewy. The flavors were good but the meat was way over done, we had to throw the entire playw away. I got 2 chicken meals, one fried and one BBQ with yams, mac salad, collard greens and mac and cheese. The yams were a 10/10- VERY GOOD, the collard greens were decent but need more juice in them and they need to be chopped smaller. The mac and cheese was nasty as hell and had way to much black pepper. The mac salad was bland and the noodles were grainy and had a oily taste, never butter or oil the noodles in mac salad ,only salt them. Hate to say it but most carribeans in NY swear they can make soul food, they can't! And this Is another reflection of that. I won't be back. This and cornbread are hands down the worst soul food...
