I was in need of a new pair of boots and a casual jacket and decided to check out Foot Locker on Fulton St in Brooklyn, I arrived in the area early not aware that the store did not open until 11am on a Saturday!
I decided to chill out in a nearby Starbucks which was refreshingly warm and provided excellent and courteous service. On arrival at the Foot Locker store at 11:43 it was already quite busy I walked around the main store and then made my way into the attached House of Hoops.
As I walked around this section, I saw a jacket which I required some assistance with, I walked up to the female assistant (who I now know to be called Kelis) and asked for some assistance.
She completely ignored my request and I was baffled by this behaviour at this point I was standing next to the jacket no more than 7ft away from Kelis. At this point a couple of white guys (about 10-15ft away from her) shouted out to her if she had “these trainers in a size 9” to which she immediately responded to and got straight onto her microphone and radioed for the size.
I looked at her in complete disbelief and shock at which point she adjusted her facemask and started to walk towards me clearly indicating that she had heard my request. At this point to add complete insult to injury the two guys then shouted out again to her for a size 9 in a different shoe, at which point she stopped any planned interaction with me and continued to request the shoe on her radio microphone.
I waited for her to finish and as she approached me asking how could she help me in a totally disrespectful tone, I just looked at her and walked away to find the store manager and report what I consider to be one of the worst cases of discrimination that I have ever experienced in my life.
I am normally driven to write reviews when I have a positive experience as it is all too easy to only write a review following a bad experience. But this experience was so shocking and I hope that my review will generate a response and appropriate action from the Management Team at Foot Locker.
I even walked across to the House of Hoops area with Dayshorn to show him the individual (Kelis) who was involved and even at this point when I was pointing her out to the manager she just walked away from our line of sight and did not consider coming over to find out what was the issue, a truly terrible representation for a major brick & mortar retail company, back to the Mac!
I would like to end on a positive by saying that the two managers Dayshorn and a young lady who was pregnant who dealt with my complaint were both extremely professional and assured me that my complaint would be fully investigated at a...
Read moreCustomer service could have been better. And when you walk in it takes a long time for someone to even give you some acknowledgement yet alone to even say hi even though there were people standing around doing absolutely nothing. The cashiers are not very friendly. They need to be more attentive and focus to their customers and make suggestions, like these sneakers run kind of small so get a bigger size. Sometimes it seems as if they are rushing to get done with you to move on to the next customer so they have a lack of patience. They don't make you feel important yet they expect you to spend your money. That day I bought 3 pears of sneakers but because I was not getting the attention I ended up buying a pair that ran a little small and doesn't stretch so I am stuck with it. I went to Roosevelt Field mall where i normally go. I went into foot locker and got that great service as usual. The sales guy showed me those same pair of sneakers and i mentioned to him that i bought those sneakers but they hurt my feet. He mentioned to me to get them in a bigger size because they ran small. I did and i now happy with...
Read moreWent into Foot Locker and it was a complete mess. It took forever to get help, and when we finally did, the service was terrible. One of the employees was openly flirting with another customer instead of doing his job. No one was on the floor, and it felt like people in the back were just avoiding helping anyone.
We were given the wrong shoe multiple times by different employees, with zero explanation or effort to clarify anything. Another customer nearby had been waiting just as long, and when she asked for help, one of the employees had the nerve to argue with her instead of assisting. She was clearly frustrated — and rightfully so. She had her son with her and had been waiting just as long as we had.
Overall, the customer service was nonexistent. It was disorganized, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I will never be spending my money at this location again. They need serious retraining on what real customer...
