We had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. We came in before the dinner rush intending to enjoy food and drinks with family we hadn’t seen in over a year. The restaurant was 75% empty when we got there with no other parties waiting to be seated. Since a few of us arrived earlier than the rest we ordered a few drinks to get us started. As the rest of our party filtered in we could see the manager was visibly annoyed as we greeted one another. Before we were even given the opportunity to order anything else or be seated as a group we were aggressively told we couldn’t occupy tables “just for 3 drinks” by who I can only assume was a male ‘manager’ — as if we clearly weren’t welcome to stay. The way we were spoken to was incredibly rude and dismissive, and the interaction left us feeling singled out and disrespected. Whether this was rooted in bias or just bad customer service, it was unacceptable. At a minimum, restaurants should treat every guest with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience here. And in reading some other reviews it seems our experience isn’t an outlier. We won’t be returning, and I hope the management reflects on how guests are being treated. Their reputation and bottom line depends on it. We took our party (and our $) down the street to another restaurant where we had a great time, excellent food & were treated with respect. P.S.: sangria isn’t just cheap red wine with...
Read moreI wish I could give this place 10 stars. I had their pizza for the first time 6 months ago, on my first visit to NYC. On my next visit a month ago, I tried several other places, thinking that someone else HAD to be able to have a pizza as good as theirs. I went home disappointed, and dreaming of Denino’s. Then this week, I legit flew to NYC from Oregon for 36 hours JUST so I could get their pizza again. It was absolutely worth it, and I’d do it again!
On this past visit, we accidentally ordered the wrong style of pizza. It was our fault 100%, and we took full responsibility for our error and asked them to bring us a second pie. Despite it being fully on us, they insisted on comping the second pizza and wouldn’t hear of letting us pay for it. This would still be a 5-star review if they hadn’t comped it, but the professionalism and passion for their customers’ satisfaction is what makes me wish I could double the stars given. When you eat at Denino’s, it’s the real deal, in all ways. This will forever be the pizza to beat for me, and I would be shocked if any other place comes close to challenge. I cannot...

A friend and I (Black F) sat outside this restaurant around noon for a stop after a workout we finished, holding açaí bowls. The “manager” at the time, Tyler, stepped outside and informed us that we are unable to sit and eat our food. Understanding the situation, we acknowledged his ask and kindly inquired if we were to order an item from his restaurant and stop eating, could we be served. He declined the ask and started to throw insults at us that included, but not limited to: questioning our country of origin, education, and purchasing choices. As we addressed his insults, he continued to gaslight us implying that he did not say anything disrespectful.
Mind you there were no customers at the restaurant and we politely inquired about receiving service. I’m a highly educated professional who has an acute ability to empathize. This “manager” clearly had a prejudice towards dark-skinned people and any restaurant who employs his type is a restaurant that should not...
