Denny's Pub — Restaurant in New York

At KKR, we have spent the last quarter scouting potential satellite locations in the greater Kensington area, particularly in light of growing corporate development just west of here. Unfortunately, after conducting site visits and speaking directly with a local associate, our concerns were confirmed.

Establishments like this one — and others adjacent — are not only unwelcoming, they are actively cultivating a predatory, dangerous, and deeply embarrassing environment. What should be a transitional neighborhood is instead plagued by a culture of loitering, sexual harassment, unchecked aggression, and a disturbing normalization of public misconduct. Locals don’t feel safe unless they move in pairs — and that says everything.

We were prepared to invest — significantly. In fact, this area just lost out on over $1 billion in long-term economic growth and development due to this exact atmosphere of negligence. Instead of progress, we saw enabling, blind tolerance, and bottom-of-the-barrel management.

Great little neighborhood classic Irish pub feel but with several games you could play. Darts, pool table/billiards, two arcade style machines for I think some sort of like casino card game, they got a modern jukebox & some Friday nights they even got Karaoke!. They have an ATM to get cash for the pool table only accepts coins quarters. It’s not a big pub but it’s got a great vibe the bartender and the locals and people there are very friendly and staff provides great service. if you want the experience of authentic Brooklyn classic Irish pubs then this bar is a must visit. Very mixed crowd mostly from the neighborhood. They got several regulars, solid drinks. Nothing fancy nothing bougie got about five beers on tap usually. For special occasions sometimes they’ll have food but it’ll be like ordered and delivered like catered or something like that, they don’t have a kitchen inside, so there is an anything to munch on or eat there. Great chill spot with chill bartenders and other patrons. Single cash payment pool table is amazing. Two fun old school game machines. Always cool and never hot inside during these summer days. Today is almost 90 degrees and it's nice inside of Denny's! One large big screen TV's on the opposite side of the bar and two medium sized TV's facing the bar which are all great and perfectly placed. Cool dart board game available as well. Atm machine that always comes in clutch for me as this is a cash only bar which is my preferred method of payment anyways at bars. In addition to the great atmosphere they sell delicious pretzels, pizz, a great selection of beer with the Lagunitas IPA in a chilled glass from a perfectly temperatured tap as my go to and a great liquor selection.
