When we reached at our booked timing, on 7th Dec 19, 7.30 pm, we are denied our booking. The manager Mr. Jeevan (don’t know if its his genuine name), argues that there is no booking for us. Then we show the confirmation at Open Table app, wherein he realises that they have given our table to some other guests. We had to argue for 10 mins, but they still denied us saying that those other guests said my name as their’s, so they had to give them the table. But eventually, the truth was that those were regular customers, so they thought Open Table bookings are of no value, and they should allot the table to their regular customers first. After 10 mins of argument, and shouting’s, they finally agreed to their mistake, but we had to wait for another 25 mins to get our table set.
Then we very politely request the manager to give us some discount or other incentives owing to their blunder mistake, but the manager acted and behaved in a very rude manner with us, and said that ‘Go write on Trip Advisor, I don’t care!’
I truly believe this was the worst ever restaurant experience I ever had in New York City. It was my first and last visit. We were a group of 14 people, I am certain none of us is even moderately satisfied with the kind of service and hospitality shown.
Their manager is super rude, their reservation system is totally broken, the food is very average, and expensive. This kind is service and behaviour can not be expected from a reputed restaurant in New York City. They need to understand that being rude to their genuine customers is the last thing they should wish for. I am highly disappointed with them, and so are by business guests from Vietnam. I highly regret my decision of inviting my guests here for dinner. Such mental agony and embarrassment.
I certainly NOT...

I tried to make a reservation for 2 people over the phone for 7:15 pm, and the gentleman said he wouldn’t make a reservation because they were already full of reservations and we could just walk in. I asked again nicely, and he said ok fine, I’ll make you a reservation.
I showed up, and there was no reservation made. The gentleman lied to me. I was annoyed, but thankfully I didn’t have to wait long to be seated.
We finally ordered our food. People seated after us got their food. So I asked one of the waiters where our food was and he said he would check. Ten minutes go by, and the gentleman who took our order originally asked us again what we ordered. So we had to reiterate everything again.
We finally get our food. My dishes are cold, and my husband has to wait an additional 5 minutes to get his naan. I asked for green chutney on the side and it tasted rancid. I asked for another one and the waiter gave me a lot of push back and said the chutney I had was fine. It was definitely not fine, it had gone bad and you could taste that. We finally got another one, and honestly, this tasted just as bad as the previous chutney.
Finally we got the bill, and they charged us twice for an item, when we only ordered one portion. Thankfully the waiter took care of this without much hassle.
This place used to be my favorite... I used to love their dishes, however, at this point, the quality of the food has gone down significantly and the service is dismal. I used to rave about this place and now it will be a place that I avoid...
Read moreI have found my experience at the Dhaba pleasant with great service, good food, slightly expensive pricing and some nice ambience.
Recently visited Dhaba for a late dinner with a group of friends in the Murray Hill area of NYC which is also popularly known as Curry Hill because of the number of Indian restaurants there. The waiters serving us were really polite and attentive even though it was pretty late in the night. As soon as you get seated, they serve fresh papad with a trio of sauces to pair them with, I found this a really nice gesture. We tried a bunch of dishes and found the food pretty tasty and flavorful. The menu was very vegetarian and vegan friendly, they had dedicated sections of vegetarian and vegan food with wide array of options which is always a great sign.
The mint chutney served with the papad was really fresh, flavorful and vibrant. I absolutely loved having it and was a pleasant surprise. We also found the Paneer Taash Kabab really good which was served on a hot plate over a bed of onions and peppers. However, the portion size was not right for a few dishes. The bhaji (curry) served for Pav Bhaji/Baigan Chili Pao was not sufficient for the amount of bread served. The curries we tried were great and the Naan bread was decent. Overall the food was nice and definitely worth trying.
Recommendations: Starters: Paneer Taash Kabab Mains: Sabji Saag Malai, Paneer Kali Mirch Breads: Garlic Naan, Roomali roti
Summary: One can definitely visit this place for their good Indian food, great ambience and...
