The hotel should not receive paying guests. Our 5 day stay in their Grand Suites was horrible, the room was substandard with its cutout fake fireplace that is the wall painted black with a mental to our bathroom shower drain backing up. The Full-time Residents patrols the lobby area. We were stopped twice by the same two live in Residents demanding our room numbers while yelling for Security. When I finally was able to speak with the GM after we left to make sure he was aware of the issue continued on. He seemed to be drifted off somewhere, I ASKED HIM IF HE EVEN CARED? HE REPLIED "NO". I could not believe what I just heard so I asked again and received the same answer "NO".||||||As you can see the hotel only answers back to these comments if you say you had a great time. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel by no means. The building needs a complete restoration on all its fine woodworking. The best way to describe the Pierre Hotel is "TIRED". ||||From the scratch-up elevators to the crack tile flooing there are war wo. Read moreThis hotel took one night room charge the day before you checked in. We were a group of 20 travelers. (10 rooms) This hotel canceled 2 of our reservations without cause. When I checked in I was told to pay the full amount of the stay! I have never heard of an hotel, first charging for the room 24 hours before check in and second making the person pay the full amount of the stay before checking out. I noticed they only did it to our group!!!!!.The hotel is dirty starting from the floors, check out the dust in the rooms. No moving around the room, you could not get to the bathroom without climbing over the bed. No handicap rooms at all!!! Elevator work half the time! Don't expect any breakfast! Hard boiled eggs. The employees were all rude and did not answer any questions. They glared at you when you used the lobby computer. No WiFi..Limited TV stations. Yes, I was not happy but there were no other hotels in the city and this location would not give any refunds. My suggestion is to spend the extra money and stay at a better chain hotel. Verify they have American English speaking employees, and PLEASE check for positive reviews. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. 161 Lexington Ave, New...
