Crash at This NYC Spot—So Cheap and Comfy, You’ll Question Reality 😭

Even though I'm just across the river in jersey, we stayed here a night to have a nice dinner in the city. This hotel is one of the cheapest in the area, and cheap meaning not so cheap at over $300 a night. Nevertheless, it was a nice, clean place to stay for the night. Staff was also very friendly. Only weird thing is the half shower door, which caused half the bathroom to get wet. Also the towels are outside of the room in their own little space and no place to hang them in the actual bathroom. This hotel is within walking distance of all the shopping on 34th street, which I know is important for most tourists. Was disappointed in their continental breakfast which didn't have any hot food. I've stayed at hotels for under $100 with full blown breakfast, eggs, bacon, waffle maker, etc. They offered frozen waffles that you can toast, bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereal, donuts and hardboiled eggs? Weird. There is a diner attached to the hotel that offers 15% off for guests so, if the continental breakfast doesn't do it for you, you have that option and all of NY to choose from.

Good hotel and great location. Room was small but very well appointed. The decor is really nice and the place has been recently renovated. There is a lot of noise from doors closing along the corridor and due to its central location, this is relentless throughout the night but also more apparent from 7 when breakfast begins. Communication from the front desk staff is awful - very little engagement or even a smile which really lets the place down. We didn’t even get a “how was your stay” when checking out. The shower looks great but lacks power. Bed is super comfortable and there is AC in each room but the unit can be noisy. The breakfast is a bonus and wrapped up in their additional tax that you pay on arrival, along with the security deposit which is communicated at point of booking but isn’t clearly explained when checking in and out. Overall - good location, nice room but the door noise and staff friendliness lets it down.

The hotel should not receive paying guests. Our 5 day stay in their Grand Suites was horrible, the room was substandard with its cutout fake fireplace that is the wall painted black with a mental to our bathroom shower drain backing up. The Full-time Residents patrols the lobby area. We were stopped twice by the same two live in Residents demanding our room numbers while yelling for Security. When I finally was able to speak with the GM after we left to make sure he was aware of the issue continued on. He seemed to be drifted off somewhere, I ASKED HIM IF HE EVEN CARED? HE REPLIED "NO". I could not believe what I just heard so I asked again and received the same answer "NO".||||||As you can see the hotel only answers back to these comments if you say you had a great time. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel by no means. The building needs a complete restoration on all its fine woodworking. The best way to describe the Pierre Hotel is "TIRED". ||||From the scratch-up elevators to the crack tile flooing there are war wo. The doors and the painted wood have been painted over so many times to lower the quality of its original beauty.||||Between the senior staff, repairs and the live in Residents this hotel is a 0 to...

This hotel took one night room charge the day before you checked in. We were a group of 20 travelers. (10 rooms) This hotel canceled 2 of our reservations without cause. When I checked in I was told to pay the full amount of the stay! I have never heard of an hotel, first charging for the room 24 hours before check in and second making the person pay the full amount of the stay before checking out. I noticed they only did it to our group!!!!!.The hotel is dirty starting from the floors, check out the dust in the rooms. No moving around the room, you could not get to the bathroom without climbing over the bed. No handicap rooms at all!!! Elevator work half the time! Don't expect any breakfast! Hard boiled eggs. The employees were all rude and did not answer any questions. They glared at you when you used the lobby computer. No WiFi..Limited TV stations. Yes, I was not happy but there were no other hotels in the city and this location would not give any refunds. My suggestion is to spend the extra money and stay at a better chain hotel. Verify they have American English speaking employees, and PLEASE check for positive reviews. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. 161 Lexington Ave, New...
