Being a foodie, I like tasting different cuisines.. if your office is next to Lexington Avenue I’m sure you will have a lot of options to taste.. of course I’ve tried many indo-Pakistani Bangladeshi restaurants here, but never tasted Nepalese food .. I was walking by and saw taste from Everest restaurant and wanted to give it a shot… nice location right in the heart of Lexington Avenue.. interior was good lots of tables to sit and eat..
Not much of crowd when I went on a weekday . Service was quick. They had a lot of options, but I chose vegetarian thali. It was about 20$ with tax . It was surely a different cuisine, but to be frank it was too bland and not my style… Italian also does not have a Puri or chapati … they did give a bowl of rice, Dhaal, potato subzi , pappas and sweet . I don’t like wasting food and almost completed the whole thali. All all the food had less salt and less flavor… I don’t know maybe that’s the authentic Nepali style. overall a decent experience… wanted to give three stars, but gave it a 4...
Read moreSo, I hit up Taste of Everest in Manhattan and let me tell you, it was quite an experience! I decided to go all out and got myself a veg thali and a non-veg thali. And just when I thought I couldn't indulge more, I couldn't resist trying their fried chicken momos – talk about a flavor adventure!
Now, here's the scoop: the food was on point. It wasn't crazy spicy, which was a relief for my taste buds, but the flavors were absolutely delicious. The veg thali had this awesome mix of dishes, and the non-veg thali was just as impressive with its variety.
And the fried chicken momos? Oh boy, they were a delightful surprise! The place had a relaxed vibe, and the service was spot-on. If you're into flavorsome food that won't set your mouth on fire, you've gotta check out Taste of Everest. It's safe to say I left with a happy belly and a...
Read moreOkay, I love Nepali, Tibetan, and Indian cuisine, but this place misses the mark. There’s very few Tibetan options, so I’ll only really comment on the Nepali side of this experience. The smoked butter chicken won out of everything we ate. The flavors were on point and everyone loved it. The lamb momos were typical and somewhat flavorless until you plunged them into one of their “chutneys”. The worst dish was the duck curry. Whoa! Riddled with bones and completely inedible. The flavor was good too, so it really left the table disappointed. Over all, I probably won’t be back. Plus, they need to work on their environment. I know we all love having an experience, but damn, no one wants to eat in a restaurant that looks/smells like Nepali...
