Don Pollo — Restaurant in New York

Normally my go to Peruvian spot was Pio Pio on Woodhaven blvd which appears to have closed. I was craving Peruvian one night walking home from work and saw this place not far off the fresh pond M train. That was about a month ago and I’ve had it about 5 times since. I sometimes just go in to get some green sauce to throw on some leftovers and enhance any meal. Whenever I bring it into work everyone says how good it smells and asks where it’s from. If only they knew how good it tasted too which is why I took the time to write out this review. I must’ve passed the restaurant 100 times not knowing how good the cuisine is. There is no ambiance--red faux-leather sofas mixed with wooden chairs while a poor music selection of reggaeton music blasts. Ceviche was salty and a very small portion relative to the price. Juice was a Kool-aid-like concoction, full of sugar. The rice and chicken dishes looked appealing but I did not order them.

Previously, I had ordered a Jalea for delivery and it was small, mostly comprised of french fries rather than fish and rather flavorless. There are plenty of good Peruvian restaurants in Queens; this one is just a poor choice. The seafood dishes are overpriced and not worth it. Poor costumer service, The person who answers the phone doesn't have the slightest idea what customer service is like, especially when mistakes are made! I had been a more or less frequent customer of this place but after this experience I will never order from this site, I find it incredible that an employee argues and argues via text message with a customer .
