Twist It Top It Frozen Yogurt & Cafe — Restaurant in New York

Went to this location with my boyfriend and was super disappointed. We love twist it top it and go very often but to a different location. When we walked in it was super clean which was a pleasant surprise. We got our usual and when we got to the car to eat it my boyfriend kept complaining that the cheesecake bites and Kit Kat tasted old and stale. He said the cheesecake bites tasted like “refrigerator”. Nothing was really wrong with mine as I get my froyo pretty basic but I did notice that the flavor wasn’t as prominent as it is at the other locations. The cake batter was very very mild and didn’t taste like cake batter at all, nor did the cheesecake froyo (those were the only 2 flavors I got). Even with that though, mine wasn’t bad. I finished it and was shocked when my boyfriend said he couldn’t eat his, it was too nasty. That means a lot because he is literally a human garbage disposal, he never waste anything and will eat anything put in front of him. I went back in to tell the lady working, not sure her name. She told me but she had a thick accident and I have no clue how to spell it. Her name starts with an M and she’s from maybe Rusia? No disrespect at all if that’s not the correct country she’s from. She was very rude when I told her everything above and she said “what do you want me to do about it?” She then wanted to go back and forth with me about what my boyfriend said he tasted. Without washing her hands she goes over to the toppings bar and sticks her hand in the Kit Kats and takes one out to taste it (let’s note that she never said it wasn’t stale though) she said nothing else about how it’s “fresh” and then said “you can get another one with no toppings but I’m not giving you a refund”. I did that so it wasn’t a total loss but then she wanted to start up again saying that of course it’s going to taste a certain way because we added toppings. I let her know we go to twist it top it very frequently and aren’t new to how it taste. He gets the same thing every time. A little more back and forth before I just asked for her name and left. I patronized this location and had the absolute worst interaction with Juan David Moncada, who claimed to be the manager, after he took it upon himself to chastise the 4 young girls that I had with me who were my 3 nieces and daughter. While they were adding items to their frozen yogurt, apparently a few pieces of chocolate was left behind on the counter. So while Mr. Moncada was picking up the pieces, he decided to speak directly to the kids and instruct them that next time they come in not make a mess and keep the items in the trays and not on the counter. I allowed him to finish and told him that he is not to speak to the kids, he is to speak to the adult that is with them. He looked at me and said 'Well kids could be clean'. So I asked if he was now insulting the kids and saying that they were dirty??? This was all while we had 5 full containers of frozen yogurt on the scale. This continued and escalated simply due to Mr. Moncada's arrogance and pure disrespect towards my nieces, daughter, and myself. I asked for a manager and that's when he said he is the manager. I told him that was unbelievable because his behavior was not that of a manager. I am truly disgusted with Mr. Moncada. This spot has the most amazing frozen yogurt! I’ve been coming here for almost 7 years now and no matter what other spots I go and try, this one always reels me back in. The place is gorgeous! There ice cream is delicious! And there staff are so sweet and such hard workers. The workers always take care of me with respect and patience. It can be crowded sometimes with kids so they might not be able to attend you right away, but they always let you know they will get to you once finished with a customer. Customer Service 10/10!!! With the amount of kids going to this store it can maybe get a little messy at times (but that’s of course the customers fault, not the workers) kids love to just make a mess with condiments or yogurt pouring. I happened to always stop by when the girl with glasses is working. She’s always ontop of her job, Cleaning, orgazning, just giving her %100 to everything. Such a dedicated hard worker!
