It was ok, but by no means should be on any best burger lists. For starters, we ordered fried calamari, which i know isn't exactly an irish pub kind of food, but regardless, it was most likely prepackaged stuff they just threw in the deep fryer, and not that good. For 6$ i'm not really complaining, just mentioning. I cant help but order it anytime i see it. As far as the burger goes, it was really just nothing special. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger medium rare and it came out closer to medium. They asked me if i wanted fried or sautéed onions with it, i ordered fried and got sauteed. The bacon appears to have been thrown in the deep fryer, as opposed to being cooked on the grill, so it was hard, but without being crunchy, and it was semi dried out. (According to my mom who's been a cook her whole life, this is what restaurants do when they are in a rush...... but there were only 3 tables at the place.) So combine the semi dry bacon with the so so burger and you get a big, hard to eat burger that isn't anything special. Lastly, the onion rings were a bit soggy; this is usually when the deep fryer isn't fully up to temperature.
If i was out with friends drinking here, and we got hungry and ordered food, i would have been perfectly happy. But the fact is, i found this place on a best burger list, and took a trip there with my mom to try it. I am an avid cook, and along with my mom who is a professional cook, we can spot quality and effort vs just any old place. This is just...
Read moreHORRIBLE SERVICE!!! THE WAIT STAFF IS THE RUDEST!!! AVOID THIS PLACE!!! The waitress was impatient and kept asking us if we were done with our food. We overheard her telling another waitress that we were eating too slow and wanted to get home some time tonight. When we were half way done with our food, another couple (who was not ethnic) came in and she waited on them hand and foot without any of her snide comments. When we asked for the bill we were shocked that she had added a 20% gratuity to it. We were never informed that parties over six would automatically be hit with the charge. It was not stated on any of the menus nor posted anywhere in the restaurant. When we asked her about it, her only reply was, "That's standard" and walked away in a hurry. In addition to this, her calculation on the tip was wrong (20% came out to $23.58, but apparently she couldn't multiply and wrote $25). When we left $23.58 she ran after us and complained we didn't pay. She then proceeded to talk bad about us in front of the other patrons saying we didn't know how to use a calculator. We will never eat at this restaurant ever again. Their staff's rudeness and ignorance will sooner or later shut down this...
Read moreI discovered this place through someone giving a list of recommendations on TikTok, and I was craving burgers that day so I went to check it out. It’s very close to the 7-train station. The place wasn’t packed when I got there so I had a table immediately.
They had many options but this I went with a medium-well Sebastian burger with wedgie fries. While I was waiting, I had a draft Harp Lager, very refreshing. I felt so full afterwards but I don’t regret it. It was so good. The fries seemed fresh cut and fried. I will definitely go back to try the other burgers.
I arrived around 7pm on a Thursday night and it had a good ratio of persons to empty space. What I mean is that it had a lively ambience of a pub but felt cozy at the same time. The TV was playing a NY Rangers game, the tables had candles and the lights were dim. The dinner guests spectrum was very wide. There were families, group of guys, group of girls and even what seemed to be a date. This time I came alone to try it out but would like to watch some sport in this authentic Irish...
