Let me tell you a story about this fine establishment. Myself and a group of friends were in town for the Acidbath reunion show at the Parmount Theater. While in town, we decided to hit up the infamous Duff's to enjoy a few cold beers and soak in the world renowned, insane metal decor and atmosphere. This was our first time at Duff's and it did not disappoint. The metal history in this place is bar none. If you are a metal head and in Brooklyn, you MUST stop by. No excuses. Here is the interesting part of our visit. After hanging out for about an hour or two, we decided to hit the road back to our AirBnb a few miles away. Upon leaving the next day, I realized I did not have my wallet. Knowing that I had it at Duff's to buy some beer, it was either there or in the Uber we took back to the AirBnb. I was travelling back three hours to CT, so I could not wait around to stop by Duff's after they opened at 6 p.m. Luckily, no crazy charges on my cards, so that was a good sign. I did have ApplePay on my phone, thankfully. As I was making my train ride back to CT, I called the bar and left a message. I also messaged the Instagram page of the bar, asking if they had found a wallet. I received a message back quickly letting me know that there was a wallet found, but needed to wait for the bartenders to get in to verify if it was mine. Later on, a message confirming that it was. I asked if they could drop it in the mail and I offered to pay a finders fee to the team. I was quickly told that there was no need to pay and they would drop it in the mail the next day. As I write this, I have my wallet in hand, even with the $13 cash that was in it. The massive headache I was saved because of the great patrons and staff at this legendary establishment is appreciated beyond words. The amount of cards and IDs that would need to be replaced would have been such a hassle, as most of us probably know. For the team to put it in the mail quickly and refuse to take any compensation speaks volumes to the type of people that run this Brooklyn staple. Thank you Team Duff's. You are the real...

If you're looking for cool, funky, interesting people from all walks of life; especially metal heads or lovers of metal; you can't find a better place in NYC. This bar is actually pretty big and spacious, with the back part of the bar being quite spacious.
Duffs has always been good to me. I've met some very interesting people, narly people and some whom I am still friends with till this day. I've hooked up with women here, been on a few successful dates, gotten free drinks. Duffs is that place.
Metal and horror movie insignia cover every inch and crevice of this bar. And you may see some horror movies playing on a VHS tape.
The drinks here are nothing fancy, standard fare buuuuuut....You can spin the wheel and get something special....Leave that up to you. And the happy hours here are ridiculously affordable....I THINK they are still doing it. I haven't been here for about 2 years.
You can come here as a pre-game spot or a place to make your place to chill. However you come out of Duffs, you're going to come out with some sort of memory (good, bad or ugly). One thing is, you're not going to run into stupid, annoying, fragile ego MFer's who can't get a hold of themselves.
Come to Duffs....You won't regret it.
PROS: -Good space to move around in the bar -Excellent decor that is everything metal -Interesting people will always be here -On average people are very chill and cool -Drinks are affordable, won't break the bank -Bartenders are usually on point -Easy place to socialize
CONS: -Not for anyone who wants to hear metal -Bathrooms....Yep!...
Read moreNice place for heavy metal death/Gothic Bartenders are super friendly, drinks are cheap, beer ice cold, music loud, but you can go to the back where you can sit and have a conversation with your friends or people you meet there, they have an old school jukebox where you can play your music, CD are changed once a month so each month you find new albums there, some creepy decoration items here and there, decoration is just amazing all the items displayed are signed by artists from drum heads, guitars, concert tickets and so on, no food tho but they allow you to get food from outside, best option is the dollar slice pizza up the corner. I've seen and met all kinds of people there, so i assume it's also LGBTQ friendly for the folks who are wondering, since I've seen some people who identify as. Having a drink and laugh, this is the place to go to have fun...
