El Emperador Elias — Restaurant in New York

Drinks are nice and strong, but they definitely have terrible service. My friends and I began with one server and she rarely came back to check on us. We basically substituted her for another server because she straight neglected us.

I ordered food (sea bass and vegetables) and drinks. My food order was never put in by our first server. 20-30 minutes later, I inquire about my food and the substituted server asks, "you ordered food?" Ma'am, yes. Then she says they only had flounder and salmon. I declined. Like, why was I NOT told at first that they were out of sea bass.

The waitresses are cute, but the first one we had had a huge ego and thought her looks meant she did not have to provide good service. Then they tried to charge my friend and I $1 extra for our drinks that were supposed to be $4 each. Why? IDK. And finally to make matters worse, they swiped my card TWICE for my order and my friend's after we had asked for separate checks! Who does that? And then, the first waitress said "OMG!" to her manager when I inquired about the extra dollar charge. Just crazy how you can work in the service industry and have a terrible attitude. Sit your fine ass at a desk and work an office job because confronting customers is clearly not Miss Thang's thing. I will not be back even though the drinks were nice and cheap. Service was terrible!!!!!!!!! Food was also dry. Rice and beans were not authentic (my friend's aunt ordered it).

Me Thinks Not Again!...

One of the worst restaurants to order from for delivery. No matter how many times I have placed an order for delivery, this restaurant fails to follow through. Tonight I placed an order at 6:30 pm that stated it would be delivered by 7:30 pm. At 8:20 pm I called and the woman who answered stated the driver was out for delivery. At 8:40, we called again and she stated still that order was out for delivery. At 9:11 pm, I called again and again she stated order would arrive in 3 minutes even though their kitchen closes at 9:00 pm. Finally, I contacted a GrubHub agent who reached out. The restaurant advised the agent the order was never received and my order was canceled.

This isn’t the first time I have had this problem with Emperador Elias. Great restaurant to go to but as far as delivery they are horrible and let’s not even talk about the lack of great customer service they have. Unbelievable that they would offer this delivery service and can not actually even accommodate it. Let’s not even discuss the lies. Just be open and say you don’t have the order. That is better than lying. Perhaps the person answering the phone should be given the book “Delivering Happiness” and given some lessons on how to provide...

Elias is one of my all time favorite places. This is usually my last stop when I am pulling an all nighter. It is also good for an early night dinner and drinks with a friend. Elias never disappoints! The mojitos are always made to perfection. The food is consistently delicious no matter the time of the day. I have found myself enjoying creamy shrimp mofongo, grilled salmon w/tostones, and avocado pyramid salad among many other plates at 5 am. I love the ambiance at Elias; it is always packed with happy people. Friday and Saturday nights are the best! Walking in here during karaoke will make you feel like you are at American Idol. The regulars who frequent the mic are people with spectacular voices. Space wise is perfect for what it is; not too small not too big. They have hookah for the hookah lovers. The reason why I can't give it 5 stars is due to the sad bathroom situation. It's one bathroom and it is always filthy. On a more positive note, that soon will be resolved once they're done with renovations on the second bathroom. I highly recommend Elias if you are looking to enjoy great food, music, and...
