Many restaurants take on the “soul food” name but Duncan’s really has the taste of the South. I’ve not had soul food this good in the city all 5 years I’ve been here: As a southerner myself it tastes like home! Read moreOrdered a 2 pc flounder and a 10pc shrimp dinner plate to go. The food was prepared pretty fast and was hot. Not sure if the shrimp were jumbo in size, but other than that the seafood on both plates was good.
The Yams were ok, they came in large chunks but lots of restaurants serve them that way. Macn cheese was solid and the 5 pc. jerk chicken was slammin'..Was nothing left but the bones.

Read moreWent back to my stomping grounds where I grew up and decided to venture into the area. Peaked into Duncan’s Soul as I noticed there Shrimp Boil. Although it wasn’t ready at the time, I just decided to get their lunch special fish and chips along with my second best craving — Turkey Wings!!
The fried fish was on par but smaller than I expected, especially with all the friend fish spots in Brooklyn. Nonetheless, the turkey wing was on point and I look forward to there boil in a future trip.
