What a neat and unique concept for a marketplace and eatery centered around Italian cuisine and culinary craft!
The basis of this review combines the concept of the establishment along with the extension to immediate outdoor area to the Flatiron Eataly location. My family and I stopped to eat here out of whim and convenience and enjoyed the experience we had here. We came here toward the end of July and was able to enjoy the meal we purchased in the outdoor public seating area looking toward the Flatiron Building (that was being renovated) and adjacent to Madison Square Park. It was such a beautiful day and setting, despite the warmer temperatures.
Coincidentally, we were in Las Vegas just about a week earlier and saw the Eataly location at the park MGM (we didn't really stop at the Vegas location, but were pretty interested with the concept). Naturally, when we saw Eataly in the Flatiron location, it helped us make our choice on where to grab a quick meal from.
The concept is super neat, in that it feels almost like a flea market of different eateries with pockets of groceries in between. With that being said, it may be a bit overwhelming at first; navigating through the establishment can seem a bit intimidating at first, but I definitely think it's worth taking the time to really walk through each area and soak what it has to offer.
We grabbed some bites from the pizza oven they had on the premise for the sake of simplicity, but there is definitely so much more to experience here. There is a range of sit-down eating areas in bars, cafes, and restaurants. There was also a roof-top terrace eatery which I definitely want to partake when I revisit.
Definitely worth your time and to stop at if you're...
Read moreI am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an unpleasant experience I had during my visit to your establishment today at the Flatiron branch.
After enjoying lunch with some friends at Eataly, we decided to have a coffee at the bar. As indicated by the signage, we waited in the queue near the stand to place our coffee order. After waiting for a while with no assistance, I asked if we should order there. At that point, a manager named Natia responded in a rude and unapproachable manner, telling us to queue on the other side where pastries are ordered.
I politely pointed out that it would have been helpful if she had informed us earlier or removed the misleading sign, rather than leaving customers waiting unnecessarily. In response, she made an inappropriate remark about me being Italian—which made no sense in the context and left me feeling discriminated against. She continued to argue and repeat the comment several times, raising her voice in front of other customers.
This interaction was uncomfortable and unprofessional. As a regular customer who appreciates Eataly’s food quality and welcoming atmosphere, I was deeply disappointed by this behaviour. A person in a managerial or supervisory position should demonstrate respect and customer care, which were clearly lacking in this situation.
I would appreciate it if this matter could be reviewed and appropriate action taken to ensure that no other customer has a similar experience.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I look forward to your response.

Read moreDespite the store’s wide range of delicious pastries and a terrific espresso sort, the customer service is absolutely abhorrent. Earlier today, my family and I visited the store to get coffee, since Eataly offers one of the best coffee blends in the city. To our dismay, we were greeted by an extremely unprofessional, and to be frank quite rude, employee who, while taking our order, routinely gave us dirty glances and failed to take into account our quite clearly articulated order. The employee in question used a rude tone and messed up a pastry order by giving us not what we payed for. Furthermore, the employee made a significant error that costed one of us to be sick. When ordering coffee, we trust that our requests to put an oat milk into one of the beverages is fulfilled, as one of us has a strong, negative reaction to animal milk. Despite charging us $1 extra for the alternative milk, the employees who were in charge of making our drink used an animal-based milk instead of the alternative one. Almost an hour past, one of us is still feeling sick from the beverage. If you have read to this point, I would STRONGLY recommend that you purchase from Eataly in the World Trade Center instead. They offer the same-quality coffee and pastries while having people on their team who are kind towards customers and who carefully pay attention...
