I've been to El Coyote many times before. It's a good size restaurant with seating in and out. A staple in Jackson Heights, I've enjoyed their churrasco , cochinita pibil, enchiladas, guacamole and defininitely the mojitos. I also love the music (usually salsa) and on Fridays mariachis. Their staff is courteous but not as attentive as one would like (,one would be me). My hubby loves this place because of the churrasco so,naturally this is where he wanted to go for his birthday. He ordered his churrasco with ripe plantains and to be different (I don't know why), I ordered the mariscada (mixed seafood in a green sauce) with rice and beans and an agua de tamarindo (tamarind juice) because I couldn't drink (on antibiotics don't ask why) . Anywho, I thought the mixed seafood dish would be grilled and accompanied by a sauce. There was no description of the dish besides the list of the type of seafood being served. I was looking forward to it until I saw what arrived. It was a seafood soup. Not sauce. Soup.Nowhere in the menu did it say soup. I dont like ordering soup on a regular day let alone during a heatwave in NY. Nevertheless, I gave it a shot. As I was sweating like I was on a threadmill eating this soup, I couldn't help but want the meat my hubby was devouring. Unfortunately the seafood was not fresh and very fishy. Perhaps if I would've been enjoying a few mojitos I wouldn't have cared. Thank goodness my hubby fed me some of his delicious churrasco, always well seasoned, tender and juicy. I also enjoyed their fresh guacamole and chips. No seafood for me at El Coyote but will definitely be back for some coconut mojito and...

I will never come back to the restaurant , good atmosphere but the service the worst! I asked water for me,and juice for my daughter and never came until food was served baby was crying because she diidn’t have her juice ,I have gone many Mexican restaurants because I love mexican food, but food from this place is not good either plus they don’t have a kids menu,we went to this place because a birthday celebration and they have Mariachi but they took so long to bring the food so when they brought our food the mariachis were about to leave so they sang a happy birthday when serving the food without cake , worst experience! and my family said only drinks was ok..

I used to come here many times for its sopa de tortilla and happy hour food and drinks. I don’t know if management changed but the quality in food has gotten so bad. The burrito I ordered took me to the bathroom that same night. The tacos seemed like they were stuffed with chicken that was not made at that moment. They started being stingy with the condiments in the sopa de tortilla.

last but not least I was not granted a SMALL PAPER BAG to take my two tacos home. I had to put it in my used Doritos bag. The waiter said they do not give any type of take out packs for small food.

It sucks I’ve been coming here for almost 15 years but clearly the customer service and food quality has diminished throughout these years.

I had another incident where I had ordered for pick up and they forgot my guacamole and chips, I called they said they would have a reminder for the next time I went. And they didn’t.

Not the greatest experience for the...

Outdoor dining was open so we decided to sit outside. The server forgot about us and I had to flag down her colleague after 15 minutes. We ordered alcoholic beverages which we tasty and made to order. No complaints. The menu did not have the pricing for the different sizes of the alcoholic beverage so it caused confusion during ordering our drinks. We ordered the Ceviche, Guacamole and Quesadilla with Steak. The Ceviche was rubbery like and wasn’t tasty and served with Ritz crackers which was odd. The Guacamole was decent, needed a bit of salt and lime for perfection. The chips tasted old and not fresh. The quesadilla was greasy. The 3 stars is merited because the food quality was not great but the drinks were good. The decor was pretty inside and out but the service lagged a bit despite being what it appeared a slow night. I recommend eating elsewhere and having drinks here.

Went here for Father's Day. Service was prompt to greet and sear us. The food to my parents was delicious. My dad got the surf and turf special, mother the salmon special, and myself the menu paella. Unfortunately I can't eat crab or lobster, and my parents were crossing utensils, so didn't get a bite of their food. My paella was great looks small but is heavy I could only eat half and took the rest home (looking forward to dinner). My one ding is I found the music a tad loud and found it hard to hear my parents at time. Otherwise a very diverse menu. They also had 2 pages of margaritas if you're into that. Reminder that it's street parking so plan accordingly for arrival times.
