Emack & Bolio's Ice Cream: Midtown — Restaurant in New York

Review for service, NOT ice cream since we didn’t end up ordering… arrived and the hipster cashier dude was deep in a conversation with a girl (and her friend who had already ordered and was also tragically waiting, but enjoying her ice cream) who had JUST turned 21, whose entire family was ALSO A CANCER omg girl me too (but not actually because who the f actually cares)!!! Omg how do I know?! Because we waited for their entire conversation after the cashier dude waved us off and said to her that we were “still deciding” (we weren’t- I was going to get the lemon blueberry but I guess I’ll never know, and he didn’t bother to ask us either). My bf politely asked if we could order (after having to experience their convo) but hipster cashier dude was like, “no I need a minute” and proceeded to ask freshly minted twenty-one year old, “What’s your Instagram?” … assuming she gave him her Instagram but also assuming she ignored his probably immediate DM, since she left right after we promptly exited after deciding the whole experience was BS. The gentleman who came in shortly after we did also had the misfortune of experiencing the awful exchange we witnessed and was like, “yeah f this kid” and left before we did. Someone tell me how the lemon blueberry was but I’m sure it wasn’t worth experiencing...

Okay, so I have NO IDEA how they replicated chocolate pudding consistency into an ice cream. I really really enjoyed that!

Cute spot with a lot of options. Their variety of cone options are amazing and I wish I wasn't too full to try one! Very cute place to stop by to get treat for your kids. Or be the cool aunty and uncle!

I really liked how they had vegan options since some of us are lactase challenged! I was very full from brunch but had to try a scoop! I so wish the cakes weren't so pricy! I was actually taken aback by the price for the size, but figured maybe a little goes a long way? They sell pints! I couldn't even bring myself to decide! So many cool flavors!

There's some seating inside enough for maybe 8 or people, which is nice. Liked the colors and the decor. The staff were really nice and gave samples so we could make the right choices. Looking forward to checking them out again soon!

Icream was amazing and great customer service. The only reason I gave them 3 stars because there was an incident regarding my child. I informed the worker that my child has severe food allergies,among the ones it was to peanuts. He was much aware and as my child took his 3rd bite of the sorbet he alerted me and said mommy there's a peanut in here. I imidiettly freaked out and showed it to the worker and he apologized and made him a new one. I kid you not it was a full size peanut and it was cross contaminated with the sprinkles. Thank God I had his eppipen, my son was ok he did not consume any of the peanut so I remained calm and went about our day. I understand accidents happen but they need to be aware and check the products before serving anyone because this could have been serious.
