Had a really great meal here! The food was packed with flavor and everything we ordered was delicious. The hummus was a standout, definitely recommend trying it. I loved that they brought out this huge fluffy bread as a complimentary appetizer right when we sat down, which was a nice touch. The portion sizes were just right and the presentation was beautiful on every plate. I have to mention the lamb dishes because they were incredible. The lamb was perfectly cooked with amazing flavor and seasoning. You really can't go wrong with anything that includes lamb on their menu. The restaurant itself is well decorated and the food presentation is top notch. However, there were a few quirks during our visit. While we were eating, their outdoor canopy actually blew off in the wind, which was pretty dramatic. The outdoor seating area also felt like it wasn't given much thought compared to the indoor space. The service was a bit inconsistent. Our server had a habit of clearing plates while we were still eating from them to make room for the next course, even though there was plenty of space on our table. We could have easily moved things around ourselves. It made us feel a bit rushed, especially when it took a while to get our check at the end. Despite these small issues, I'd definitely come back. The food quality is excellent and the pricing is very fair for New York City. The flavors and preparation really make this place worth visiting again.

My boyfriend and I were in the area and wanted to get some Mediterranean food. He told me that this place was delicious and I'm not usually a fan of Mediterranean food so I was skeptical and just wanted to take the food to go so that I could cook something at home in case I didn't like it, but the staff were all really nice and polite, even though we were taking everything to go and they even served us water while we were waiting for our takeout. The restaurant itself seems very clean and has a very homey vibe, kind of like your local neighborhood spot but a bit more elevated. It felt like a family place but not super loud and noisy. The seating is nice, and there's a bit of outdoor seating outside too. They packaged all of the food for takeout really well, and we got the meat platter (the one that comes with lamb chops, chicken, steak and all for around $38) everything in the platter was delicious. The veggies were really delicious as well! We were not worried about anything spilling because they packaged everything so well as you'll see in the photos. We had a great time even just waiting for our food and each member of the staff was so nice and helped us take our food to go and check out. I'll definitely order from this place again or return if I'm craving Mediterranean food! Five stars!🌟

"A True Taste of Turkey in the Heart of NYC!" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars) If you're craving authentic Turkish food in New York City, look no further than Alibaba Turkish Restaurant. This hidden gem brings the flavors of Turkey right to your plate with an unforgettable dining experience. Food: The menu is a feast for the senses, offering a wide range of traditional Turkish dishes. The shish kebabs are perfectly grilled, juicy, and packed with flavor. The döner is just as you'd expect from a top-notch Turkish restaurant – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. For a lighter option, their mezze platter is a must-try, with an assortment of hummus, baba ghanoush, and stuffed grape leaves. Don’t miss the baklava for dessert – it’s heavenly! Every dish is made with fresh ingredients, and you can really taste the quality. Atmosphere: The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that reminds you of Turkey. The decor is traditional yet cozy, with beautiful Turkish rugs, ornate lanterns, and authentic touches throughout. The staff is incredibly friendly, providing excellent service with a smile. Whether you're dining alone, with friends, or with family, you’ll feel right at home.

This has to be when reviews do not do justice, or maybe the restaurant doesn't live up to them. Either way, this was a special family dinner with religious celebration and this restaurant put a damper on it. So, we had reservations with email confirmation for a dinner party of 5 at 7:30 pm, but we were told there is no reservation, after telling them the name of the person and mentioning the email the hostess said ok, then things went downhill. The hostess started being exceptionally rude, she started arguing with the bus boys out loud to put the tables together for our party, we sat next to which we assumed were the owners of place because the husband and wife were doing the business bills and we can sense the TENSION at that table. Once seated we had to ask for table placements at least twice and the third time to get a napkin. After we placed our order, the hostess returned and said, "we don't have filet mignon, order something else," verbatim. After getting the meal which was over priced, we wanted sparkling water but instead got water that was caffeinated and without warning it was poured out in our glasses, we tried to make an effort to explain about that we do not want caffeine with no avail, so we just asked for plain tap water. After we finished our mediocre meal we asked for a dessert menu, we waited a while to get them and once we ordered items from it right away our hostess told my wife we don't have it, "get this one," she said ok and asked for some cappuccino, "we don't have milk," at 7:30ish they were out of filet mignon and 8:45 PM they were out of milk, IN MANHATTAN!!! Please save your money and look for other places with great Turkish and Mediterranean food with a much...

A memorable evening with exceptional service. Last night, my dining experience at Ali Baba, a Turkish Mediterranean gem in Manhattan, left me thoroughly impressed. Despite a minor hiccup with our reservation, which was inadvertently given to another party, the staff handled the situation with utmost professionalism and grace.

Upon realizing the mistake, they politely addressed the issue, ensuring we were seated comfortably. This initial mix-up could have marred our evening, but it was their exceptional service and sincere apologies that set the tone for what was to become a delightful dining experience.

The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, perfectly capturing the essence of Mediterranean charm. As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a testament to authentic Turkish flavors, prepared with care and presented beautifully.

The staff, attentive and knowledgeable, made sure our every need was met. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, turning a small oversight into an opportunity to showcase their commitment to customer satisfaction.

I understand that a previous review highlighted the reservation issue, but I firmly believe that the way the staff rectified the situation deserves recognition. It’s rare to find a restaurant that not only serves excellent food but also prioritizes the customer experience to this extent.

In conclusion, Ali Baba is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic Turkish Mediterranean cuisine in Manhattan. Their ability to turn a mishap into a positive experience is commendable, and it’s this level of service that will keep me coming back. Highly...
