For years, I lived just a block away from Eva’s restaurant, and it remains the only place in New York City where you can indulge in "cheat" meals without any real compromise. Their food is low in carbohydrates, sugars, and fats, while being high in protein — every athlete’s dream.
While the image of a Manhattan cop eating a donut is a familiar staple of popular culture, here you will find some of the fittest officers in the city stopping by for lunch daily. It is no surprise that world-renowned bodybuilders also frequent this place, with the walls proudly lined with photos of famous athletes from the past several decades.
In the back, there is a supplement store stocked with obscure and fascinating products you likely did not know existed — from protein-rich bread to amino acid chewing gum, and everything in between.
The Greek owner has clearly incorporated Mediterranean influences into the menu, giving it a distinctive and healthy flair. Whenever I feel like "cheating" on my diet, I go to Eva’s for the high-protein broccoli pizza, the chicken burrito with hummus, or one of their other...
Read moreThis place has changed so much, I don’t know where to begin, I’ve been going here my whole life and thought it was friendly and cared about the community but that is no longer the case. The delivery boys that hang out in the restaurant all day leave no room for paying customers and the bike the all have block the entire way of the sidewalk most of the day and create a bottle neck and blocks the sidewalk so that makes it Impossible to get around the front entrance of the residential building if your wheelchair bound like my mother, and car access to the front of the building is impossible so access-a-ride has to park down the street but then we can’t wheel past the bikes, literally boxed us in. I’ve asked them to have them park their bikes in a way that doesn’t block the street but the guys inside give me the worst looks and pretend they don’t speak English and say the owner isn’t here and they can’t do anything about it. So I guess I’ma call the city cause they don’t care about...

I didn't take a picture of the food because I was starving, and I struggle to eat, but I ate the whole thing because it was so good, so I couldn't stop, had to enjoy it. I took a screenshot of what I ordered. My friend was with me, and she also ordered the same thing. Her first bite reaction was, "Oh my god, everything tastes exactly how it should! that's really good."
If this sounds paid, its not, I'm telling you I wouldn't shut up about this meal while eating it and after I got on the train. This restaurant is just very much on my mind now. They don't make food like this in Middletown...
Oh forgot to add they gave me two free muffins and it tasted like my moms healthy versions of pastries, very yummy.
Also. I am going insane wanting to visit again...
