This review is long overdue. I must admit, in my experience, I'm the worst food critic because at the age of seven, I learned to bake everything cratch and prepare meals for 100 or more people easy. And everyone in my family, in the neighborhood, at church and work love my meals. So I can say this is by far the best jerk chicken, until I experience otherwise. LOL Consistency is key and whoever prepares the jerk chicken is very consistent. On top of that the restaurant is clean! However, the "eye stares" and "eye intimidations" from the men behind the counter after you've paid is ridiculous. First of all the place is small and always crowded when I go, so there's no need for the men to watch me like I didn't pay or short them money or said something out of line like "large jerk chicken please" or "thank you". I used to go weekly now yearly. If the small space makes them tense, relocate to a more accommodating space or take a vacation out of the country. SMH #tense...
Read moreVery ridiculous attitude. I wish I could give a zero star. I live in a different Borough but knew the spot like 7 years ago (They had nice workers then) and since I have a new job in Brooklyn, I decided to drive 4 miles to get food there. I ordered rice with Oxtail and small jerk chicken. Oxtail was $18 and jerk chicken was $7.50 which totalled $25.50 and I had $25.37,so I gave him $40 (2 $20 notes). He had some kind of attitude, so I said, dont worry about the jerk chicken,I will buy the oxtail alone. He then gave me a $10 note, a $5 note, 6 pieces of $1 note and 3 quarters. I politely asked him to give me the $20 note that he was holding and he refused, saying he has refunded the jerk chicken money. I tried explaining to him, instead he returned my money and said he wasnt selling food to me. A guy came out, they spoke and he told me that I can not expect my money not to be broken into pieces but he didnt bother to ask me what the problem was and they started...
Read moreHaven't tasted my food yet but I dont even want to. It obviously WASNT made with love. Typical screw face Jamaican lady on the grill let me stand there for several minutes without acknowledging my presence as she wiped an already clean counter top down just because she could I guess. It was so long and awkward that a male behind the counter gave me eye contact indicating to just order! Smh Jamaicans will never get to the next level in the food industry because they come a foreign and act so nasty with paying patrons.....I prefer Trini restaurants not because of the food but because of the service. I do not recommend. Fisherman's Cove on Utica is better anyways but their food is so dam good no one cares about the rudeness. Smh. They could be a top notch restaurant if the had even DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE....
