I came here because my first choice was closed. Service was good. The waitress said it would take 15 minutes for my food but it took 50 minutes. Then had to wait another 5 minutes for green plantain to be fried. I'm used to West Indian restaurants take forever so the time didn't bother me.
The food was just ok. The snapper was salty and kind of hard. They probably soaked/cleaned it in salt water because the saltiness was all throughout the fish. Even when you fry fresh fish hard the meat has a soft texture. This wasn't soft so I don't think it was not that fresh. The pickliz was really good. The serving of black rice was huge compared to the ratio of the fish. The taste of it was meh. I felt it was missing something. I can eat rice with avocado or fried plantain only but this rice isn't that flavorful for me to eat as a main course. The meal was $25

Read moreFirst time going into a Caribbean establishment and I’ve felt welcomed. Questions were encouraged and answered. Food is 10 out of 10. It was so good I forgot to take pictures. Delicious. We had the fried pork, fried goat and stew chicken w/brown rice and beans, sweet & green plantain. The potatoe salad was different from anything I’ve experienced and I loved it. My friend scrapped the bowl clean. Also had the meatballs (sooooooo juicy and flavorful) & chicken patties. I tore up those sides of piklz. We tried our best, but had to take home food ( we were so full). I loved every second of my time here. We will definitely be back for the black rice, Conch & Oxtail. Thank you Fancy Buffet for a wonderful...
