One of the best souvlaki food trucks in my opinion. I grew up in Astoria and remember ordering food from them when they were only a small push cart on the corner of Steinway and 31st Avenue. Back then they only sold souvlaki sticks with a slice of Italian bread. And I think it was Franky’s dad or uncle that used to man the grill. Was so happy to see a few years ago when they upgraded to a big food truck and introduced other items on the menu. Now they offer lamb, pork, shrimp and beef sticks, rice, French fries and hot dogs. Whatever meat you decide on is always perfectly cooked, tasty and juicy. I think the key is the marinate they use. The meat is just so tasty and tender. I’ve had them with the lemon, bbq sauce, tzatziki and the spicy sauce—all are tasty. And it’s a bargain at only $3 a stick. The French fries is also good, surprisingly. I recommend getting the fries with feta cheese—so good!

There is usually a crowd of people around the food truck. They even have plastic chairs for people to sit, eat and hang out in. I’ve heard people say that they’ve traveled from other neighborhoods just to get food from them. I believe it. I think they also now have a second food truck in a different location to meet demand.

I think everyone should try Franky’s. Can’t go wrong with their food and you’ll be helping to support a family owned business.

Tip: Cash only but there’s an ATM attached to truck. Call and order in advance to...

$4.00 each souvlaki $1.00 each tzatziki $1.00 each pita

5 souvlakis = $20.00 2 tzatzikis = $2.00 2 pitas = $2.00

Total 🟰 $24.00

At first he charged me $22.00 and that was it. Then I asked him to make sure there were 5 chicken in the bag, 2 pitas, 2 tzatzikis just to make sure before I left.

He then said he undercharged me and then it was supposed to be $29 and he did some other calculations and instead it was supposed to be $34.

He said you gave me 22 so just give me nine more and instead of me charging you $34 I’m gonna give you a discount and only charge you $31 lol okayyyyy…

I went to CVS to get more money out and as I was returning, the math just didn’t make sense to me and when I returned to pick up the souvlakis I asked him if this souvlaki were $20 and the Taziki is two dollars. How much are the pitas? He said each pita is a dollar.

Then he never looked me in the eye again, and kept looking at the bag and said at the beginning I actually gave you two pitas for free I felt like asking him then why are you overcharging me by $10 for them?

But I didn’t want to be confrontational. He had a line of customers and what matters to me is just ending the transaction without getting ripped off.

My opinion is the guy is shady and a snake, makes great food and needs to learn a lesson or two in honesty! I would not support his business again and...

I've always heard many good things about this truck, so I decided to try them. Food is okay, but their customer service is terrible!! The first time around the guy who took my order, who I presume may be franky, wasn't very attentive and had somewhat of a rude attitude. I figured, he must have had a rough day so didn't make much of it. Now today was the second time I stopped by to get something to eat from this truck, and the same gentleman took my order. Now as I'm waiting for my order, I see him putting what appeared to be barbecue sauce over a platter (not knowing that it was my food platter), he then turns atound and asks me if I also want want white sauce and/ or hot sauce... So I say to him, "wait a minute did you just put barbecue sauce over my platter", he goes "yes". So I tell him that he didn't even ask me, nor did I ever tell him to put barbecue sauce on my food platter. He then gives me the nastiest look like it's my fault, says absolutely nothing, and fixes me a new platter while murmuring with his co-worker. Come on now really?!! I was very close to loosing my cool and giving him a piece of my mind, but it wasn't worth it. Especially because my son was right besides me, and I did not want him to misinterpret my reaction. But never again will I go back to this truck!! It's not customer service oriented, despite all the good...
