First off, I was impressed by the menu narrowed it down to four dishes and ultimately chose the lemon ricotta pancakes. The picture with the candied lemon rinds all over the whipped cream and pancakes with the strawberries looked scrumptious. My wife ordered the tuna melt. I ordered an iced unsweetened tea and asked for equal or something like that and was brought simple sugar liquid. When I asked again for an equal equivalent, the waiter shrugged his shoulders and shook his head and walked off. Then we got our meals. My pancakes were a bit dry, plain tasting, and there were no candied lemon peels on the pancakes, and did not taste like there were any citrusy taste in them either. The woman next to me has the same and asked her waitress where they were and she said they were out of them. She told me the same thing. The pancakes are called LEMON ricotta pancakes. When I reported this to our waiter, he went to the cook and was told they were in the pancakes and he doesn't put them on the pancakes. If that is actually the case, then do not have a picture of the of pancakes with lemon peels draped over the whipped cream and the pancakes. Also, The tuna melt had a small piece of cheese that covered the middle of the sandwich and not the two thirds on the ends. Then the Electronic pay machine suggested 20 percent gratuity as a minimum, not 15percent. This was not an impressive visit. And change your picture if your are not going to serve it that way. I would not have...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to stop by for lunch since it looked cute. We were seated and given water, which was nice, since we had to cool off from the scorching summer heat. We ordered right away; just as we ordered other parties began to come in. About 4 other tables. We were waiting patiently, watching the cooks make the food, finally we saw our order... all is going well, right? Not. The waiter brought over OUR order to the next table... the one that was seated and ordered after us. They looked at the food with distain, confused as to what they had just received, but began to eat anyway. Then they proceeded to give their food back, for it to be "fixed." Fast forward 30 mins later, we're still waiting. Finally, after HALF AND HOUR, our food was given to us... luckily for the business the food was delicious (UPDATE: BOYFRIEND HAS FOOD POISONING NOW... READ BELOW), the service on the other hand, HORRENDOUS! I've worked in the food business since a teen, my family owns a restaurant, and NEVER have I had such terrible customer service. The owner needs to sit and talk with his/her staff. They should've come over and spoken to us to clarify, not just leave paying customers waiting and upset. Maybe next time I'll order takeout, this way I won't have to deal with the servers (which I won't)!
UPDATE: MY BOYFRIEND NOW HAS FOOD POISONING! JUST READ ANOTHER REVIEW ABOUT THIS, HE ALSO HAD A SALMON DISH. KEEP AWAY FROM...
Read moreVisited this restaurant yesterday for lunch with my family. The food was excellent. The service was exceptional. I didn't catch our server's name but he was so professional and attentive and patient to my daughter's special request, all while wearing a kind smile. But there's more. Our family was visiting from Upstate and we brought our two children to see the city for the first time. We had bags with us and left one behind at the restaurant. I noticed it when we got home because it was very special to us, it had inside two rosarys from St. Patrick's Cathedral that we got that morning. I called three different places we visited in hopes that someone may have it in their lost and found. I messaged Friedman's online. 20 minutes later I got a call from Uma who said he had the bag(!) and will send it to me, all the way in Upstate New York. I am overjoyed. And grateful. Nobody does that anymore. Faith in humanity restored! Thank you Friedman's for not just a great meal and great experience, but for staffing your restaurant with kind and professional human beings. We will definitely be back again. PS order the BLAT (Bacon, lettuce,...
