Fresh pressed tortillas on the spot and fresh flavorful food. I dream of their mixed seafood ceviche ($6.50 on a crispy tostada). Shrimp, calamari, octopus, and clam "cooked" in lime juice and aromatics. Have only had ceviche at this restaurant, was hesitant about ordering it, but it is mind blowing. And the seafood texture wasn't raw - also mixed in with other ingredients like onion and crunchy green tomatillo (summer).

The fried fish taco ($5.50) is also excellent, not heavily battered or greasy. Served with the most finely shredded cabbage ever on top, an orange mayo drizzle, and salsas with a medium kick. 2 Tacos (or Items) make a good lunch.

The Agua de Frescas were very refreshing and not-too-sweet. Got the cucumber & mint ($5.50). Lots of people seem to order the Cocatales with unlimited saltines, but I'm always distracted by the ceviche tostada.

I kept wondering WHY the Los Tacos No. 1 franchises taste SO good (like the ones in San Diego) and after speaking to the lovely manager here, they are owned by 3 friends who met at University. One from Tijuana and this company's food is TIJUANA-STYLE. After eating at many places in NYC, Queens, Sunset Park (mostly Puebla Mexican I think); I'm going to stick to Lost Tacos No. 1 and Los Mariscos for my summer seafood craving. Don't mess with unexpected quality elsewhere.

The staff is friendly and super efficient. The space is fun and feels like an oceanside-porch with a small bar, a few picnic tables (outdoor shed seating still available), but it gets crowded easily with the line. Music is very loud, soccer game is usually on, cute fish tank at the cash wrap, very clean, nicely designed walls and interior, one single bathroom. The price point is $1-2 higher than what I would normally pay for a taco at a casual place, but the fresh tortilla shells and overall quality of the food is on par with the price. These are...

Stopped by around noon on Saturday. The place was bustling, and there was a rather long but fast-moving line to the register where you make orders. I had 6 oysters ($15), ceviche especial ($7.50) and two tacos, fish ($4.75) and shrimp ($4.95).

What I liked: The lively vibe. The fast service. The fish taco.

What didn’t enjoy that much: It was not supper easy to find a spot inside. There is plenty of outdoor seating but on a hot summer day, I really wanted to cool down a bit in the air-conditioned space. Both tacos I ordered came with some hot sauce inside, which totally overpowered the taste of shrimp, and it felt that the two tacos tasted about the same. Again, that was good but when you order different items, that’s probably because you want to experience different tastes. Ceviche especial was just fine but it came on a crispy taco wrap, with the same spicy sauce inside, making it taste mostly like the third taco.

Oysters were fine, though not the most impressive. They came with lemon, a Tabasco-based sauce and.. a plastic spoon. I found the latter sort of cute and fitting the vibe of the place. But I ended up not using the sauce since it would make oysters taste about the same as everything else I ordered.

The bottom line. Certainly is worth visiting if you are in the area and look for a casual spot and a fast bite. Come for food, don’t come for talks or sit-down experiences— it’s gonna be too loud for that anyway.

Personally, I may return if I am in the area but I’ll probably go for two fish tacos,...

don’t know what “mariscos” means? go directly back to Spanish 101 or jump in the ocean…it means seafood, and the small bites of sea here do not disappoint. the laidback fishing-themed lunchroom interior is perfect for enjoying a delicious variety of tacos. located in the Chelsea Market, there are seating options inside and even more outside. there’s also a small bar inside that serves adult beverages. if you are food touring through Chelsea Market, this is a must-try. because this is a sister restaurant of Los Tacos No. 1, spoiler alert the tacos are going to be point. enjoy Mexican comfort foods that are both comforting and flavorful without being insanely heavy.

the fish tacos are amazing. good size. fresh ingredients— the veggies of the slaw taste so clean. layers of flavor from herbs, spices, and sauce. the crispy bliss of fried fish. the overall impression—this is damn fine taco. pair this with chips and guacamole and you have a satisfying light lunch. Los Mariscos also serves two types of shrimp tacos as well as ceviches. you can sip on micheladas, coronitas, margaritas and a bunch of soft drinks like Mexican sodas. fish tacos $3.95 + tax + tip. guacamole n chips is $4.95 + tax + tip. adult beverages run between $4ish - $13ish.

the staff work hard and are friendly. the fact that the interior and exterior tables are kept so clean despite the insane amount of foot traffic in and around the Chelsea Market is a testament to the sweat that the folks here put...

Did you know the famous Los Tacos #1 in NYC has a hidden Seafood spot?!?‼️ @losmariscos1 is a bit hidden in Chelsea Market so make sure you’re not sleepin on this GEM 💎 Also if you’ve been to Chelsea Market you know there can be insane lines for food, but since this spot is not in the center it is more low key and has super manageable lines, if any!! They serve delicious Mexican seafood dishes like tacos, ceviche, aquachile and more. Quality food for great price. Loved the spicy shrimp and fish tacos 🌮! #nycfood #chelseamarket #nyctacos #nycmexicanfood #nychiddengem #nycblogger #nycfoodies #nycfoodie #nycrestaurants #nyccheapeats
