Chelsea Music Hall — Local services in New York

I've come here a few times for a few parties. Sunday for Funbox (deep house) and The Originals on Thursdays. The place itself is just an open floor plan. The first few times it was very hot but the last 2 times I've gone the AC was on. That made such a huge difference. The drinks are decently priced for the area. Unisex bathroom. The ONLY reason I do not give it 5 stars: BARTENDERS. They are not really very friendly. Also, one day I bought a LIIT (Long Island Iced Tea) and it came back pink. 🙄 C'mon dude. When I asked him to remake it because it was drink. He laughed it off and made another pinker drink. 👌👎 Just ask me how to make it. I recently visited Chelsea Music Hall that required a 20% gratuity on all purchases. While the drinks were decent, the mandatory tip completely ruined the atmosphere and made me feel like I was being ripped off.

The mandatory gratuity meant that the staff had no incentive to provide good service, as they were guaranteed a tip regardless of how they treated their customers.

Furthermore, the prices at this bar were already high, and the additional 20% gratuity felt like a complete rip-off. I felt like I was being taken advantage of and forced to pay more than I should have for a mediocre experience.

I've been going to Chelsea music hall for several years. I love that they have quite a mixture of events, Hip hop nights, House music and live music. They have a website so it makes it easy to see what's on their calendar. The space is perfect just big enough. I've grown to know some staff from frequency: Eric , Johnny, Roy all extremely helpful!! And always at attention ready to help, even their guards are great! As a native New Yorker it feels great to have a space I can attend that I know I will enjoy and feel completely taken care...
