George’s Deli — Restaurant in New York

This is a review from a former customer who was very friendly and consistent on a daily basis.

They always get sandwiches wrong and never listen then get mad when you call them out on it. Asked for a peanut butter and jelly on toast. Just asked real nicely to let the bread cool a minute cause it will melt the peanut butter and make it messy. He put it on there while hot and melted anyway.

I repeated myself several times and they either got it wrong on purpose to spite me or just that stupid. Attention folks, be prepared to constantly repeat yourself even my best friend who's not around here complains about them not getting anything right. Then get an attitude when they get it wrong so I just decided to finally complain for the first time then instant hate towards me. As a loyal daily customer you should get certain respect cause you're paying for it.

This is an excellent NYC Deli bodega. I regularly get sandwiches from here late at night and they are consistently delicious. I knocked one star off because the rolls are sometimes stale which is an occasional disappointment. Other than that, always on point and a good selection of hot and cold food as well as the convenience off the shelf items you'd expect. Excellent instant noodles section! There's often a crowd in the early part of the late night as it's one of the few 24 options where so much is available. You can order ahead on doordash so your items and hot food are prepared and packaged for pickup ahead of time (ordering for pickup does not incur extra fees). Of course, delivery is an option too. Super unassuming spot that would be easy to walk by. But once you're in, you're transported to a whole different environment filled with music and decorations.

The tacos themselves were fine-nothing terribly special. They aren't shy about how much filling they put, which is a plus. But the flavoring was overall fine.

The real winner of the meal, though, is the birria torta. The meat was so delicious and overall was just a lovely meal.

Tons of juice bar options and soda options, which was an interesting addition. When we went there was maybe one other table there, but I can imagine if it were to get crowded seating would be quite limited. The front desk cashier was...
