I really wanted to like Grillify more considering previous Le Burger history. Nevertheless we were a bit disappointed with the double burger. First of, visually it’s a ginormous burger. This thing was on a thick pretzel bun double patty, with lettuce, tomato pickle onion, bacon and avocado. Hands-down impossible to eat even with unhinged jaw. That said, knocking off one star immediately for unruly construction, and another star for flavor . The burger patties tasted processed and dare I say defrosted. We ordered both medium well and medium rare, and besides the pink of medium rare, both burgers tasted virtually identical. Which is to say rubbery and not particularly juicy. We struggle to eat the pretzel bun because it was thick and chewy. Lastly the fries got a bit of spicy fries treatment with what tasted like old bay seasoning. Not sure about the rest of the menu, but burgers are for...
Read moreWas enticed by their happy hour deal ($15 for burger and beer) so decided to give it a visit. The burgers are quite delicious (meat perfectly cooked and flavorful, but the buns were just meh). Gave it 3 stars because we didn't like that we were asked if we wanted fries or onion rings like it is part of the happy hour deal, but it was extra. Mind you - the happy hour deal was only on the board outside of the restaurant, but there was no mention of it on the menu. When we asked what was included at the happy hour, the waiter said 'its what that's on the board'. At that point, unless you walk out of the restaurant and check, you wouldn't have known. (and based on another review it seems like a habit to sneakily add items on the bills for things that seemed free). At the end it is still a good deal, but we felt deceived and it left a bad taste. Had it not been the case we would be...
Read moreI randomly walked by Grillify and for some reason I was drawn in. I am so glad I was! If you like a burger, you will love the burgers here. I had the Black Garlic burger which came on a pretzel bun. Wow, it was cooked so perfectly (rare- to medium rare.). The burger flavor itself was so tasty and the black garlic sauce (made in house as are all of their sauces) was delicious but not overpowering. The bottom of the bun held up to the meat juices so the second half of the burger was as good as the first. The burger came with fries which were fresh, crispy and also had great flavor. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend you stop in and be prepared for a delicious experience! The picture is of a different burger when I went back a second time….the very next time I was in NYC. Place is...
