if you have any interest in science and technology, of course check out this place. what might not be so obvious is that it's also of great historical significance as seemingly the only remaining shop of its kind, having persevered for well over 4 decades! to put it shortly: doc lazer has an original hologram he made of andy warhol reading a magazine. there are countless other treasures in this humble little shop, including an eye-popping signature wall that's been collecting more famous folks over the decades.

He's very good at breaking complex topics down into relatable metaphors. Around every turn you'll find interesting stories, unexpected insights, jokes, and of course, really cool holograms.
I took the tour and also enjoyed his Illusions workshop, in which I learned some easy and low cost ways to create impressive looking special effects. We discussed techniques, materials, and much more. The doctor was very generous with his time and was able to tell me what I needed to hear at the right moment.

You will get to see things that aren't in the main display, including the laser downstairs used to make the holograms. He's also had a lot of interesting encounters with some famous folk over the years (bonus: people who know something about recording music should ask him about what local joint he spent some time at...). Covid put a dent in their business and now is the time to get them caught up. When I was there, they happened to be having a fundraiser to keep the doors open.
