If I could give this zero stars I would! I spent over $100 +20% tip for self service food! The one server they had did not speak a single word of English! I asked for a glass of water three times meaning I had to find three different people who spoke English to ask for the water. It took 45 minutes to arrive. The pasta counter did not have any names of the dishes and no menus anywhere! Finally I ordered somewhere across the room. The ravioli… haha 10 pieces came cold on the place, in shock, I asked one of the English speaking staff where the rest of the food was, and I was told that was the portion size, even though he was also shocked at what came out and embarrassed it was also served cold. He said his manager would come over and speak to me about offering a second or extra portion, but the manager never turned to the table. The soup counter had no names on all eight soup pots. They barely spoke English and I had to ask to lift up each lid so I could see the soup inside and guess which soup it was. They then said the soup came with bread if you were ordering a takeout, but if you sat down inside, you cannot have bread with the soup - questioning their logic I asked if I was allowed to purchase bread with my soup but they said no! I asked to speak to the manager! An English Speaking person came over who was not the manager and brought me over a 2 inch piece of bread and said that’s what you would get if you had a takeout so that’s all they can give me - disgraceful. So in front of him the one English speaking staff member I tasted the soup, it was room temperature cold so I sent it back with him to be warmed up. It came back lukewarm so he sent it back a second time and the third time it was served to me boiling hot, where they had overheated it in the microwave, the splashes were all over the bowl from over boiling in the microwave. I finally made it to the coffee counter at the other end of the store And again no English speaking staff that side of the store and no signs or descriptions or labels on either of the cakes or pastries and nobody understood when I asked for oat milk after half a dozen times of trying to communicate in broken English I took regular milk. They served it in a Takeaway paper cup And when I asked for a tray to carry over two coffees and a scone, they did not understand or offer to help!! They did however ask if I’m leaving a tip is superb English! Ha finally 45 minutes later, somebody turned up with two glasses of water when the soup cooled down from boiling it did taste good. The pasta ravioli was too cold to eat. The overall service was awful and the atmosphere and hostility when asking if anybody spoke, English was hostile. You were expected to leave a tip to carry your own coffees, the food was cold, the soup cold and reheated 3 times, water from one side of the store to the other is a joke. I do not recommend this place. Do not waste your money if you are looking for somewhere decent with half decent service. The pictures show the portion of the $25 ravioli and the overheated boiling soup that was sent back twice with the splashes probably from the microwave. I wish I took a picture of the 2 inch piece of bread they gave us what a joke.
Until now, nobody has...
Read moreI discovered good reviews about fresh croissants here baked every morning. I've loved around the corner for 3 years and had no idea, so was excited to get one before my first work call at home.
The positives, the croissant was very good and fresh. It's pricey, but at least the quality didn't dissapoint.
I'm taking time to share this review because the cafe counter staff attitude alwas extremely rude, dismissive, and disorganised. There was a line to order pastry then pay, there's parents with children in front and behind me, but two men just walked in, cut the line, and was ordering before anyone else and the staff didn't tell them to line up or that we have customers standing there for 5 mins already. When the customer in front of me politely asked for clarification how the ordering works so he knows what to do next time, the staff just dismissed him, said they don't know where the line is, make your own line, and while he's still taking, they just shouted, 'next customer' to his face. How horrible rude was that. He didn't even complain or say it was their fault, all the staff had to say was hey I'm sorry we weren't sure if they were in a line or if youre in the line for food and already ordered - our mistake/confusion, let me help you now. Instead they just told this guy off... FOR LINING UP WITH THE REST OF US AND BEING POLITE, AND WANTING TO BE A REPEAT CUSTOMER. The rest of us in the line had to confront the staff and stick up for him, and this line we've been in. He didn't make it an issue, we just reminded the staff there's clearly a line here, they didn't have to start arguing and make it an issue.
If you want to pay almost $5 for a croissant, get yelled at and rudely dismissed by diaorganized staff first thing in the morning so you're amped up for the day, maybe try a sweet pastry to hopefully get the bitter taste out of your mouth.
No matter how good the food tastes, bad attitude for a few seconds of service for that price point and for the cipriani brand was beyond subpar. Makes you second guess if you want to try the restaurant or cipriani after...
Read moreI came to Harry’s Table for restaurant week and let me tell you that it was one of the worst service I have ever gotten! The staff was mistreating my party as soon as we asked about restaurant week menu. The server did not introduce herself and when asked to tell us about main course items said to look at the restaurant week menu. There were no description of the meals, therefore we needed some more info to make a choice. When asked again to tell us what’s inside the dish she said that everything is on display at the middle of the food court. Only after being asked 3rd time she walked us through the menu naming the ingredients of the main courses and highlighting some items as “I’m sure you know what it is”
When my salad came, I noticed a black short hair in my plate (which was not mine, I have long blonde hair). I called another server, since our server was nowhere to be found. My plate was taken away without any apologies. A few minutes, I got a new salad plate with no manager in sight to give an apology for the inconvenience.
When asked our server to wrap the leftovers, she sighed and left without saying anything. Another server came up to wrap our food.
Maybe, she had a bad day I thought. However, my party overheard our server talking to a table next to us, which was ordering from a full menu, and she acted extremely nice with that customer, so I assume the issue was that we were not spending as much money at the restaurant as other patrons, therefore we were not worthy of good service.
Our server was nowhere in sight when it was time to pay, and we had to ask another server to bring us the bill.
Overall, the service was awful. Would not recommend this place to a friend. The staff assumes your financial status and discriminates based on that. The restaurant is located in the luxurious compound where my friend actually lives, so it is a shame that this restaurant wears Cipriani’s name but does not stand up to...
