The Hungry and Healthy Marketplace has everything you wouldnât expect the place to have. From cough drops and cold medicine to fresh prepackaged meals and turmeric super shots, you can find everything you didnât know you needed on the shelves. All of which is available 24/7.
The Hungry and Health Marketplace also serves as a neat little hide-away. Obscured from the entrance is an upstairs eating area accompanied with popular radio music and a sofa and plants and a plethora of tables for casual dining.
As if a kind of speakeasy, the Hungry and Healthy Marketplace hosts regular events in the upstairs eating area; one of which is the Chopped Cheese Comedy Showâan absolutely genius concept that should surely remind you of simple times in the elementary school cafeteria, palling around with the class clown at lunch.
I started working down the street and the Hungry and Healthy Marketplace was the first place I went to grab breakfast. Since Iâm originally from a small suburban town, I havenât quite gotten used to the hectic pace of the city. With that said, I find the Hungry and Healthy Marketplace as a sort of new home and an integral part of my morning routine.
Here I walk in and Iâm warmly greeted by Omar with: Good morning, how are you my friend? I order a sandwich from one of the chefs. Neither of them ever need to write down my order and each time the sandwich comes out precisely as I requested. The chef will simply nod in response and then I am set. In just a few minutes, my breakfast sandwich is passed to the register and bagged with napkins and utensils for me to go on my way.
In addition to the stellar atmosphere, the cooked food is phenomenal. The quality of the ingredients completely surpasses any of the other local deliâs and eateries. Not only that, the menu is full of vegan and vegetarian and gluten-free alternatives. Bottom line, the Hungry Healthy Marketplace is fully equipped to please any customer that walks through the door.
Altogether, I strongly recommend the Hungry and Healthy Marketplace as a reliable place to frequent for a variety of circumstances. Still, donât just take my word for it. Definitely stop in any time to see...
Read moreIâve been coming to this deli for a long time and have always appreciated the good food and reliable service. Unfortunately, ever since the new girl started working there, my experience hasnât been the same. She was working last night (August 17) and was very rude to me. This has actually happened three times now, which is frustrating because it never used to be an issue here.
When I went to pay tonight, she asked if the turkey sandwich I ordered had cheese. I genuinely didnât know because I had just picked it from the menu, and when I said I wasnât sure, she responded in a very rude way: âYou ordered the sandwich and you donât know?â She then asked the cook (who is always very nice and helpful), and after he clarified, she turned to me again and said âyou see, very easyâ once again in a rude tone.
On top of that, I believe she overcharged me. I ended up paying $17 for a turkey sandwich, which I knew wasnât right, but since it was late at night I just wanted to go home.
I normally never leave bad reviews, but the way she acted was very disrespectful. Iâm sharing this as feedback because I really do like this deli and itâs been one of my go-to spots just two blocks from my apartment. I hope the service and pricing issues can be addressed so I can continue coming back as I...
