I’ve been wanting to visit this place As a foodie myself I got really excited when I saw “chino latino” fusion. Me and my partner travelled all the way from New Jersey just to try this place. We will never be back.
We walked in, the place is filthy and outdated. No one acknowledge us or say hello, the host just said wait 2 mins. There’s an old guy told us to seat all the way back by the bathroom or there is nowhere else to sit. We ask politely if how long would be the wait if for the next table and he said “I dont know, maybe 15-20mins more I dont know what time they’re gonna finish eating” like they don't want us there. As a first timer visiting this “trending chino latino” restaurant and want to support them since they’re having a downfall as they say, no wonder WHY. Mind you there is tables in the middle of the dining room, no reserve sign maybe they’re just saving it for more people I guess (when in reality its the weekday and its not pack) or he could’ve been nicer about it
Server is nice, she got out chicken order wrong but that's okay. They replaced it right away. But $15 for a bowl of fried rice is insane! The Chinese restaurant near my house is way better and it’s $8. Nothing special about it. I'm not being cheap but for $15 of rice there should be something “WOW”. But.. nope. Fried pork chops are BLAND. I made better chuletas! Salad is lettuce and a big tomato (its not even cut up), tostones is COLD AND DRY! No salt. Hot and sour soup is wayyyy too sour. The chicken is average, FOR EVERYTHING OF WHAT WE ORDERED, the GREEN SAUCE is what we liked the best. ITS A SHAME.
Trust me, it looks good on the pictures, but the quality and taste of the food is not worth traveling or worth of your money. And if you want to be disrespected by the host go ahead and visit la dinastia.
Never coming back...
Read moreOrder two dishes to share today at this place and was very disappointed. One plate was the fried pork chops with rice and beans. Meat was very bland tasting and some parts were pink on the inside which for pork should not be that way. I ordered pork with garlic sauce which is a favorite Chinese dish of mine. To my surprise when it came it was breaded I immediately told the server that I could not eat that as I have celiac disease. He just walked away and didn't come back for about 20 minutes and seems to be the manager because even though I called over other servers they went to speak to him but left us alone for all that time. There was no accompanying rice with the meal either which is very strange. When he finally came to the table I explained that the menu did not say it was breaded, that I hadn't touched it and that I couldn't eat it. I then told him to give me the Dominican chicken with rice that was also on the menu as a substitute. I asked if he could give me the dark meat because I was referring to the chicken stew that was on the menu and said Dominican chicken. He very rudely said to me that it is made with white chicken only and that I could not get dark meat. I told him it was no problem. To my surprise when it came it was a yellow rice with chicken combination and not the chicken stew I had ordered but since I'm not a fussy person I ate it anyway and it was surprisingly very good. This server/manager should really be berated for his attitude and his ess nastiness as it was very uncalled for and I was willing to cooperate but it was clear that this is not usually breaded nor was it mentioned on the menu. I will not be going there again needless to say. I have been there many years ago and never had...
Read moreI, like a lot of people here it seems, tried out La Dinastia after seeing it on Instagram. Our party of four stopped by just before 2 on a Sunday and the place was pretty full. We decided to order a bunch of things to share:
Boneless chicken crackling with house special fried rice - this is their most popular dish. The chicken wasn’t dry but there was a lot of breading on it. Fried rice wasn’t anything amazing
Chicken with rice (Dominican style) - this is definitely not Dominican style. It was basically just yellow rice with leftover pieces of sliced chicken breast (it had that old chicken taste), topped with peas. We also ordered a side of plantains to go with it and that was probably the only thing good about this dish
Lomo beef - I thought this would be more Latin style but it was more like Chinese pepper steak. It’s beef sautéed with peppers, onions, tomatoes, soggy French fries (very weird - like did they just have this leftover and decided to throw it in there?) in a sweet and sour sauce. Though it wasn’t what I was expecting, this dish was actually pretty good. Definitely the best of the bunch, but also SUPER oily
Sorry to say but overall, this place was overrated. The average cost of a dish here is $20-$25. Yes, they give big portions but when the food is meh, you don’t even want it all. I would rather go to any Chinese takeout spot, pay 1/3 of the price, and the food would...
