IHOP needs to pick up their game, most notably their management and customer service aspect. It was excited to visit IHOP after all these years being derailed by numerous trendy restaurants and the complex logistics of eating out with friends. But it was finally time for me to visit iHop and eat all the breakfast food I want at 7:00pm on a weekend.
When I arrived there, I noticed that there was no host visible. I looked through the windows all I saw were a few tables with guests eating. After 10 minutes, finally someone came out to serve food, so I asked if she can get someone to handle 6 people (including me) to be seated at the front. She told me to wait because they were in the process of cleaning up the tables and getting the tables "ready." I saw at least a dozen tables "ready" with my own eyes. I get better service than this in a hole-in-a-wall Chinese restaurant, so that says something about this place.
The food was delicious and the waitress was friendly, but when it was time to pay the bill that was when we ran into problems again. The way this IHOP place works is that any promotion used with a digital device must be printed and stamped to the receipt. As a customer, what am I supposed to do when the promotion clearly states on their promo page that "you show to your waiter." The manager said that her "boss" doesn't just allow "digital proof" and that she needs a hardcopy proof as well.
After a brief exchange of ideas, I suggested that she let me go to a local print service to get this hardcopy. She approves of that idea under the condition that my girlfriend stays in the restaurant in case I run away from a $25 meal. Till this day, I still can't help to not laugh if that ever happened. Of course, her condition didn't fly with me, so I took my girlfriend with me and get a hardcopy for the manager. What could have been an easy solution turned into a 20-minute solution. All because this location has to deal with the bureaucracy of corporate IHOP just to get an approved printer (according to the manager).
Come on now, it's 2018. I don't see IHOP's business model sustainable long term if things don't change for management, but their food is okay...that's one thing I can...
Read moreI ordered delivery through Postmates, and my husband other ordered from Grubhub. Unfortunately, it was the worst experience I've ever had. My order included four Mexican Tres Leches pancakes, but not only was one pancake missing, but only the top pancake was actually Tres Leches while the bottom two were buttermilk pancakes. This is INCREDIBLY misleading, especially considering that customers are charged for full Mexican Tres Leches pancakes.
My husband’s order from Grubhub included a Country Steak dinner, which was missing a side of two buttermilk pancakes. Frustrated, I called the store and was met with a rude attitude from the employee John. He sounded annoyed and too busy to help, merely suggesting that I contact the apps regarding the issues.
I reported the missing items through the apps, but today I received a phone call from the general manager Michelle stating that the entire Grubhub order was canceled when I had only reported the missing pancakes. The caller was not only rude but accused me of canceling the order and insisted I should handle things with Grubhub since it was "my account." Despite my attempts to explain that I never canceled anything, her rudeness and her consistently accusing me forced me to disconnect the call.
My husband decided to call back, only to receive the same rude treatment from Michelle and John, who even hung up on him during his second call. Michelle was very rude stating she was already speaking to Grubhub. I then reached out to Grubhub for clarification, and they confirmed that only missing items were reported and that the delivery driver had canceled the order because another driver picked up the order before him.
Grubhub then contacted the store, and the store indicated they would call to apologize, but that call never came. This has been a disappointing experience, and I am sad to say that this will be my last visit to this location, especially since IHOP is my favorite restaurant. If customer service does not respond accordingly (waiting for a response), I won't be ordering from IHOP ever again. It's disheartening to see how poorly customers are treated.
I hope this review helps others make informed choices before ordering from...
Read moreMy family and I dined at this IHOP for my nephew's graduation. We had a large party of about 17 people. My sister called in advance so they could be prepared for our large group. When we walked in things were still being prepared which wasn't too big of a deal. Finally we are all situated 3 tables later. Our waitress comes over (already looking like she did not want to be bothered with our party) she starts us off with drinks. I did not catch her name but she is fair skinned with short curly hair (in case anyone goes). After we get our drinks (which seemed to take forever we start making our food orders. Now with a group this size her first question should have been how is everyone paying BUT she did not ask. As she is taking the orders people are telling her certain bills need to be separate. When she got to my sister's order my sister tells her that her and my brother in law's order need to be on the same check (they were not @ the same table) the waitress VERY rudely tells my sister that she needs to know these things in advance and there can not be this many separate bills and that she would need to speak with her manager. The manager and assistant manager come over take orders very politely. Our food took a lot longer than I would have liked BUT we were finally eating. Order's are coming out some good and some bad. The bad ones. My sister's pancakes come out as if they had been in the freezer and just thrown on a plate, my other sister had half of the toppings that were supposed to come on her sandwich missing and freezing cold fries. Once their order's were reordered things seemed to be ok. BTW the waitress NEVER came back to apologize. I would not recommend this location for large parties. The bathrooms are horrible as well! What they need to do is hire someone for housekeeping to keep up with the restrooms! This was my experience I hope yours doesn't turn...
