Been here twice and plan on visiting again. The atmosphere is laid back. It is very dog friendly, as a matter of fact the first time my friend and I came here, we were celebrating Precious's birthday (my friend's doggie). The food is good. I had the cheeseburger and it was tasty. Just ask Precious, she enjoyed a piece or two of it. 😊 The second time I went I had the Shrimp Basket and it was šŸ˜‹. It had the right amount of breading and they were plump and juicy. The selection of drafts is good and the drinks are good also. The prices here are very reasonable. They have a great outdoor seating area with picnic tables. Amy the bartender is very nice. I'm very glad that I decided to try this place. It might become one of my go to pubs. I also love the decor. Part of the bar is the front of a firetruck and there is other Fire Dept. decor. Updated 2/4/23: Came back here recently and I had a very pleasant time. The bartender, James, was very nice and so were the owners, who happened to be there the day I went. The menu has been revamped and the items on it look good. I got there for 2 P.M. Happy Hour and they have good deals. This is a great neighborhood bar. The vibe is comfortable for everyone. You can even feel comfortable bringing the kids and of course doggies are welcomed also. I plan to visit here more often. Looking forward to trying some of the new menu items.

Visited here today with a friend for the first time, and we immediately felt welcome. A great corner location, and as shown in other photos - it looks like a fire station from the outside. Outdoor seating (backyard patio and tables with umbrellas), and a very neighborhood feel, which made me feel very welcome - even though I'm not from the neighborhood. Our server's name was Karma - what a GREAT NAME - and she was SO WONDERFUL. A smile you could feel through the mask she was wearing, and overall pleasant and friendly. We ordered burgers (The Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and the Big Jack's Burger with French Fries). Burgers and fries were great overall, and for the price you pay, a true steal! Plenty of beer and drinks on tap for your drinking pleasure and an overall nice vibe. A must try in Sunnyside!

This place has one of those "challenges"... See picture. Basically eat a spicy grilled cheese with ghost pepper and get a free shirt if you don't succumb to the cup of milk before you finish. Sounds fun, right? So, we did this. And after finishing the sandwich the bartender says "oh yeah, actually, we are out of shirts." That's it. No sorry, no consolation free beer, nothing to suggest that this was something she probably should have mentioned before we ordered, no estimate of when to expect for shirts... We just left our contact information this past wknd so when they do get more they will supposedly be in contact. If/when that happens, I'll update this review but otherwise people should get a heads up about the bait and switch since obviously the establishment themselves aren't forthcoming about it.

Finally got a chance to try this place out! With everything going on with the pandemic they have really done a great job adapting to the ever changing environment. My wife met a lady who was possibly the owner or maybe manager a couple weeks back while having one of our dogs with her. The lady was so nice to my wife and dog that my wife suggested trying out the place. We live about 6 blocks away and don’t usually walk down that way to eat but because of the interaction between the two we wanted to check it out. Boy it didn’t let us down. They have outdoor seating either under the pavilion which is really nice or now they have tables set up on the street which is where we sat! Those tables are self serve which was fine because we had one of our dogs with us so we wanted to kinda sit away from others.

The waitress was amazing and even though it was self serve she insisted on bringing us our food and drinks. I ordered the po boy which was pretty good! Funny thing is she brought me sandwich and then 2 minutes later another sandwich came out which she informed me was because the first one didn’t have enough shrimp on it due to them running out of the regular sub bread they used. I had no idea it didn’t have ā€œenoughā€ shrimp on the first one. I thought that was really nice of them to do that since I wouldn’t have known the difference.

We also ordered the fried pickles which were no joke some of the best I’ve ever had. The breading is so good it’s not heavy it’s similar to almost a panko bread crumb and the spicy mayo that goes with it was great! My wife ordered the wrong thing lol she ordered black bean burger but she actually really liked that also.

Between the food and staff we will be back for sure. Praying these restaurants make it through this god awful pandemic and all the bs rules they keep...

While in New York City for a day trip with my girlfriend I had told her we would stop at Jacks Fire Department. We’re both fans of Bar Rescue so, beings we where close we stopped in. It was empty since it was if my memories correct Monday before thanksgiving. Didn’t bother us though, we where just excited to be there. The barmaid was very friendly and very up beat. I took on the Jacked Up Grilled Cheese Challenge and completed it. The sandwich was very hot but, very good too! The Bloody Mary shot which the barmaid said was her recipe she had got from a long time friend was absolutely the best! I’m not a Bloody Mary fan but, I would have drank glasses of this! I wished we could have met some of the owners, that would have been a bonus. It was very cool there with the de’cor. If where ever in the area again we will definitely stop in again! I am still waiting on a shirt since they where out at the time. Don’t understand why they say they will give you a T-shirt for completion of there ā€œJacked Up Grilled Cheese Challengeā€.....still haven’t recieved my shirt(it’s now 3-25-18) kinda bummed. Don’t plan on getting a T-Shirt cause you’ll never get one. Did receive a constellation prize for not having shirts at the time I was there. She took my address and said I’d receive a shirt when they got them in......yea sure. Still haven’t received the shirt....why tell/advertise you get a shirt when you don’t? Never...
