Jerry's Pizzeria — Restaurant in New York

I came into Jerry's today during my lunch break around 2pm and it will be my last time going. I've been going here for over 10 years. I typically buy a variety of slices or combination of pizza pies. Today I decided to get a medium chicken and tomato pie and two veggie slices. Once I stated my order, a woman behind the counter said something in Spanish to her male colleague and he asks me if I am aware of the price. I said yes and I sensed a brief moment of hesitation. They talked in front of me in Spanish which I assume was the man telling the woman, "She said she can pay for it". As I waited for my order, I kept processing what just happened. I have never been asked if I am aware of the prices before my order is worked on. And I didn't see anyone else that came into the shop be asked the same question. When it came time to pay, I debated if it was worth me saying being insulted is why I'm not leaving a tip and because I just wanted to bring pizza home to my family is why I didn't immediately walkout. However, that experience left a sour taste in my mouth. The pizza doesn't taste as good as it used to and the service has declined. There's too many options in the Bronx for me to settle for Jerry's. I ordered a large 🍕 pizza pie for delivery. This was not my first pie but would be my last now. The order was taken promptly, and the pizza was also delivered quickly. The pizza was hot, and then the sad part was when i opened the box. The pizza was very dark and orange looking!. Also the bottom was not burnt but it was almost cracker like in texture and taste. The taste was very salty and it was quite oily. I know pizza as I've been eating pizza since I was a kid and tried well over hundreds,this one was trash. I called Jerry's, and the guy then called another fellow to the phone to answer my concerns. I simply said this pizza was old, very salty, and the bottom was hard but cracker light. He said he didn't know why? He said it was fresh, and he knew bc he made it. I said it was no way fresh and was disappointed because i had ordered from them before. His response: What do you want me to do?. Just send it back, and he hung up. No one came for the pizza. It's not about the money, but if im spending my money, i expect quality food. Yesterday I went there to buy a medium pie (chicken and bacon) and they charged me $24… today I ordered by phone for delivery the same pie… and they said the total was $23… then when the delivery man came to deliver the pizza, he gave me a receipt for $30…How did the price of pizza rise so much from one day to the next? In addition to that, I had prepared to give a tip of $5 to the guy... then it would be around $35... too much money for a pizza... I called the pizzeria and the owner talked to me and said that the worker was confused (that is not my problem)... and I can understand that he was confused And instead of paying $23 I can pay $24 as I paid yesterday but paying $30 is too much! Wait so long for the pizza so that in the end they change the price however they want…. I didn’t accept that pizza… the owner didn't even apologize and was rude… that's how he treats his customers! I was a loyal customer of that place but now I will no longer go with that horrible treatment from that man... who does not respect women! it's a theft!
