I tried to order 2 margaritas and with much surprise I was told by the waitress that they had stopped serving them for the night. I asked why and she replied she didn't know, maybe they finished the tequila. It really sounded weird to me as I could see other customers drinking Margarita, but I was hungry and I decided to stay anyway. After 15 minutes I see the girl at the bar making margaritas, so I thought what the hell? I called the waitress and I asked her why she didn't want to give us the Margarits she replied that she didn't know they might have started serving them again and she would ask the owner the permission to give us 2 for free, which I think it is the minimum she could have done. After another 15 minutes she got back to us saying the owner didn't agree and if I want I can have them now but I have to pay... I was very pissed off and I said no. Finally, when we finished eating she came and gave us 1 free Margarita to share as a great courtesy! I have been in the restaurant business and I went out of my way trying to make my customers happy but here instead they went out of their way to make us unhappy. This is a totally and unacceptable unprofessional behavior and the fact that the food was okay is completely irrelevant. The Bronx is famous for Mexican restaurant and you can find good Mexican food basically everywhere, hopefully with a better service...

Back in mid June took a couple of friends for dinner. The Botanera sauce pretty good, we asked for more, where charge for it. The issue is not to be charge for second serving of complimentary sauce, but the fact that waitress didn't advise us before serving it. One of my guests found a piece of plastic in his plate of food, the waitress picked it up without any apology or offer to replace food. We then ordered a strawberry empanada, described by the waitress as served warm, but we got a soggy dis colored version. Called waitress and told her about it, to no avail, no apology, no solution offer. We paid the bill in full, and tip as usual. Today, I called in for an order of gorditas ,described by waitress as filled w crispy pork, cilantro and onions. Got delivery, ate the first, split the second in two, since I could not see or taste the crispy pork. Called in, and was told by same waitress it was actually filled w potatoes 🤔 Because I had eaten one ( trusting it was what I had asked for) she withdrew the offer of returning my money, saying I had eaten it and didn't like them. This particular waitress is in need of some serious training, and the administration attitude is penny smart dollar foolish. I visited and called for delivery regularly, tipping generously, but will NEVER visit, order or recommend ever...

My co-worker and Myself just left your establishment @1:45pm and the treatment in the beginning was great the waitress greeted us and she was wonderful. Now coming to the end the lady Rosie I guess that is her name she has on a green hat and have tattoos in both arms she is working behind the counter taking calls and doing orders. She came over to our table however she wasn’t our waitress getting ready to take my plate of food that I had, I told her that I wasn’t finished eating my food. I found this to be rude and if she wanted to take a plate why didn’t she take the half empty rice plate or chip place? My coworker asked about taking her drink to go and Rosie said that we can’t take drinks out after spending $46.00. I know that the Governor had said this over a year ago that as long as you purchase food that you can take your drink out. However when Rosie said No you can’t take your drink out this promoted me to writer the email. This is not my first time coming here and I was able to leave with 2 drinks especially since I spent money on the food $46.00 I am very disappointed about this been coming here for over a year with no problems and this will be my last time coming here. I will let my other coworker know about this lace service since we work in the area. I am really a...

This place is an absolute hidden gem in the Bronx and is never crowded because it is so far away from Manhattan. The burrito from Taqueria Tlaxcalli was featured back in 2014 in the website 538.com’s national burrito bracket and made the final 4 out of the nation’s best 64 burritos. After eating here twice (once in 2014 and once recently), there’s very clearly a good reason why that was the case. The place itself is rather quaint, but there’s definitely room to have your meal. They do a great fresh made to order guacamole and the drinks are solid (my wife for a margarita that was tasty). The burrito is the main attraction and it doesn’t disappoint. It is absolutely massive and is a burrito that does require knife and fork. The tortilla is perfectly warmed up and the burrito is drizzled with a combination of very tasty sauces. They also provide hot sauce on the side for those wanting extra spice. The contents of the burrito are perfection - the rice and beans are cooked properly and the meats (I’ve had the carnitas and steak) are extremely juicy and tender. Make the trek here if you have the time - it’s worth it!!

I discovered this Mexican spot the day my 5 year old niece graduated. My sister and I took a chance because we were craving something new. Well, let me say this place did not disappoint. My steak burrito was delish. I especially loved the different sauces that they spread across the burrito. It's like a cute design with all of this color and delish flavor. My niece had the chicken burrito and loved it. The French fries are so yummy. I also enjoyed the chips and guacamole, but you absolutely can't go wrong with the burrito. It's better than any burrito spot I EVER tried. The service was also very quick. I was concerned about that because some of the reviews stated that the wait is too long, but thankfully that wasn't my experience. Definitely give this spot a try if you're looking for delicious burritos.
