I had the chance to visit La Criolla – Peruvian Sandwich & Rotisserie Chicken during a short weekend trip to Staten Island, and what a great find! My family and I (7 of us total) stopped by on Sunday before heading home, and as good Peruvians, we all went straight for the Pan con Chicharrón. Every single one of us ordered the same, with just a few extras on the table—yuca frita, sweet potato fries, and in my case, I also asked for a Butifarra. Everything was excellent—the place itself, the atmosphere, the service (our server was great, even though I didn’t catch her name), and of course, the sandwiches. The only hiccup was that instead of a Butifarra, I got a chicken sandwich, but honestly, it was delicious as well, and I ended up sharing it without regrets. What stood out the most was that the restaurant had barely been open for half an hour, and it was already almost full. That tells you everything. Everyone at the table was happy and satisfied, and the final verdict was unanimous: my uncle (who lives nearby) will definitely be back, and the rest of us will be visiting La Criolla every time we’re in Staten Island. Also worth mentioning: parking is no problem here. The restaurant is in a shopping plaza with plenty of spaces available. We went on a Sunday at noon and had zero issues finding parking. A fantastic new addition to the Staten Island food scene—highly recommended!

I was very excited to try this new place .. met with my cousin and Niece and although the food was really good I had chicharon sandwich with passion fruit idk what salcita they put but it was delicious and I’m very picky when it comes to texture . My only dislike is that online it said open at 11 and they litteraly open the door 11:30 🤦‍♀️ if you need that extra time that’s fine but I think you should change from 1100 to 11:3o..

Loving this new place, I will keep coming back for this delicious sandwiches with a cold beer when I'm around, their rotisserie chicken with all the sides are tasty as well, my Family love it, nice atmosphere and great staff, All I can say I'll be a regular here from now on, waiting on my pick up while enjoying una Chilindrina (Chela, cerveza, birra, beer) 🍺♥️

I came here on a Saturday morning to have breakfast. The place is very small. It took someone over 20min to take our order and when we did try to place the order we were informed that they had ran out of chicharron and it was being cooked at that time and it will take an additional 45min for us to get our food. They were also out of huancaina sauce and butifarra. How are you out 45min after you open the establishment? This is unacceptable We also placed an order of yuca frita and we specifically told the waiter we wanted it as soon as since we had to wait so long for the chicharron. The yuca came out after the sandwiches. Now the food, we waited over an hour for 3 sandwiches since the time we got there only to get cooked but not fried chicharron, only 2 skinny pieces of pork not like the videos you see in TikTok. We will never come back, to make the long drive from queens we would rather go to NJ.

They need to improved in all...

I recently visited this fast food restaurant and had an extremely disappointing experience. The service was unprofessional, the food was below standard, and the papaya drink had no flavor. I waited over 25 minutes for my order while another customer was served, left, and then returned. To my concern, the employee who took my order opened that customer’s bag, removed items, and placed them into my bag before giving the customer a new order.

This practice is completely unacceptable and raises serious health and food safety concerns. Additionally, the kitchen staff were visibly laughing and joking instead of focusing on their work, and none of them appeared to be wearing gloves or hair nets. The lack of professionalism, cleanliness, and customer care is alarming.

This location requires immediate corrective action and new management oversight. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this...
