I’ve lived a block away for the past 5 yrs and it’s always kind of been hit or miss. When it hits, I have this feeling of “never going anywhere else.”
The most recent miss was so bad, I had to say something.
I placed my $75 order on GrubHub because I couldn’t get in touch with the restaurant. After placing the order, I realized I didn’t ask for extra duck sauce. I tried calling for the next 30 min as GrubHub wasn’t allowing me to add the adjustment to my order.
Nothing.
The food finally gets here, 3 packs of duck sauce, which I guess is my fault.
But man, we could’ve really used it. The fried rice was burnt and flavorless. The sesame chicken was also very dry. The wonton soup I ordered was some other thing I hadn’t ordered, also flavorless. The eggrolls were somehow both dry and soggy at the same time. Dry on the outside and complete mush on the inside. My guess is that it was fried too hot so it looked good to go but was not.
We also ordered a kung pao chicken but didn’t even open it because everything was so bad.
We tried calling the restaurant several times. Someone finally answered but in the middle of talking, they put the phone down and left us on hold, listening to their conversations for 10-15 min while we were also on hold waiting for GrubHub.
I reached out because we didn’t want our money back, we just wanted an edible dinner…. Which never happened. It’ll be a tough time trying to convince the Mrs to eat here again. Which is a shame. We took my mom to the UWS location a few weeks back and we LOVED it. It’s what made me want to revisit my home location again.
Pretty bummed...

This is my second time ordering from this place. I ordered a half fried chicken with pork fried rice. My partner ordered spare ribs with special fried rice.
The fried rice is very dry. It tasted like it has been laying around the kitchen for days and re-fried. The fried chicken is also dry. The meat has a strong fridge smell. I don't know how many times the chicken was fried before giving to us. And the spare ribs are extremely salty and taste like they will go bad in a few more hours..., and they cost up to almost 35$. This is Chinese food in Washington Heights.
I am Chinese, and my partner is Cuban American. This place gave out food that was not even close to "just taste ok." While I am writing this review, my stomach is hurting at the same time. I will file for a lawsuit against them if I have any health issues in the following days. The below part is for the restaurant to read. (if they would care to read the review on...
Read moreOld school style and service. No frills vibe. Simple menu old school chinese style. I ordered special fried rice, crackling chicken bone in, plantain and a frozen lemonade. Everything was fresh since I was literally waiting at the door when they opened. The chicken was definitely a highlight as others may have mentioned. Delicious, crispy and moist. But the special fried rice, ugh so damned good! Really authentic with a light char flavor that I wasn't expecting but definitely appreciated. The frozen lemonade was perfectly balanced not too sweet nor bland. The plantain was okay. I was enjoying my food so much I lost track of time and damn near pushed a tall, handsome, gentleman out the way to hurry and pay because I had to run to work lol he was a good sport about it though and I apologized. The service was one little asian man running pretty much everything except the kitchen. I tipped him great and left in a hurry but I'll definitely be...
