Just found my new go-to spot in Brooklyn Heights! đŸ„ą Lantern Thai Kitchen has been around for almost 20 years, and now I see why. The food is fresh, tasty, and doesn’t break the bank. We ordered the appetizer platter (a ton of delicious bites to try!), plus pineapple fried rice , noodles, and everything was just chef’s kiss! 🍍✹ The vibe inside is also super chill and cute and a modern look. If you’re in the neighborhood, definitely swing by and give it a try. You won’t regret it! 😋 Featuring : Appetizer Sampler includes Chicken shrimp Fritters Coconut shrimp Cheese & Crab Rangoon Sa Tae Chicken Avocado egg rolls Pot sticker Crispy Shrimp rolls Curry Puff Nightingale Nest Pineapple fried rice in pineapple shells Salmon Mango Kee Mao noodle with chicken Sweet Mango with sticky rice Thai Mojito Mai Tai Butterfly peas Lemon and soda

I'm sorry but I'm not sure how this place got so high of a review. Several things: We got the fried calamari, green curry, and shrimp pad thai. Everything was bland except for the pad thai, which was at least edible. The green curry was so watered down you can barely taste anything while the calamari got saved by the sauce. What's astonishing is how expensive these were for the taste (sure its Brooklyn but still doesn't justify the cost). Overall, very disappointing for the price and rating it has. People should try Thai food in Elmhurst - like heaven and earth. I know its far but I rather spend the difference in cost for an uber there 😓 Wasn't planning on reviewing so I've eaten the food before taking pictures but then had the need to just say it out there after trying it out đŸ„Č

Unfortunately, Lantern was a miss for me. The food was bad. Like zero stars bad. There was no flavor at all. I ordered the spring rolls (you get 3 cut in half) and the pad thai with tofu. Since it was my first time there I thought to go with something classic. The spring roll ends were burned and you could taste the frying oil that had been used a million times before! The pad thai was also bad. It was a lump of rice noodles stuck together with tofu thrown on top. The tofu was cold, watery and soggy. The worst I have ever tasted! To top it all off, the whole meal was too expensive for what it was. The leftovers, basically the whole meal is still sitting in my fridge, which reminds me I need to throw everything away. The service was nice and friendly.

Rude Waiter. Stopped by to grab a bite. Sat outside the service was terrible. Appetizers was lukewarm. Our entree’s was cold. Ordered eggplant basil with beef. Beef was like rubber. I sent mine back to ask for hot food. My sister didn’t send hers back. We sat there and ate a few bites, Paid the bill. I did not leave a 18% tip because service was bad and food was terrible. I had one small glass of water they never came back to refill my water. I leFt a $5 tip which they were lucky to get that. As I was leaving the little rude waiter shouts out oh you’re supposed to leave 18% tip. First off tip isn’t mandatory. We sat there and eat bad quality food that had good flavor but horrible temperature and texture and didn’t complain. We paid our bill that was over $100. So I told him that he is disrespectful and that I’ve been coming here for years and I will not be returning. He says don’t come back. I left but I thought about how bad the food was and how bad this guy’s sassy lil attitude stinks so I decided to go speak with the manager. Oh I left out the fact that he was not our waiter. But he thinks he deserves a 18% tip. Ok so as we are waiting to speak to the manager the person who actually took our order. The rude waiter comes over and says you need to move because I need to get by. So I bit my tongue and didn’t budge. Spoke with the manager he apologized and said they were short staff and he will talk to the waiter. The attitude the waiter had was basically like please tell the manager. I know he is right because I’ve been coming to lantern for at least 10 years and every time I come he is there fluttering around the place like a chicken without a head. He is probably family or just one of the most dedicated worker they have. So he thinks he can be rude and nasty to people with no repercussions. I know the manager said he hopes that I come back. But nope won’t be returning. I also will be telling all of my family and friends who also frequent this spot not to return. I wasn’t going to leave a review. But I woke up this morning with a tummy ache. I’m very upset. I knew we should have gone to the SEA in...

First of all when we first arrived, they sat us in the back in a space with absolutely no lighting so we requested a seat change. Anyways. service was extremely slow; our main waiter didn’t even speak English. I had to ask for the same thing 4 times and he looked so confused and finally asked another waiter to translate after the 4th time. The shumai appetizer was nasty and did not taste like traditional shumai . It was also cold and undercooked so we sent it back and switched the order to calamari. The calamari was better but still nothing special and nothing comparable to calamari I’ve had at other Thai places. The pork chop was good—not great. It was a bit over cooked. However, the sautĂ©ed veggies were tasty and I liked my drink. I asked if I could substitute the veggies or white rice for fried rice and they just laughed and said no—-I don’t think it was a big deal or some crazy request but I guess they don’t know how to please paying customers. Overall food was just alright—nothing to return to, and not authentic—just something quick and not too expensive to eat. Employees were nice but service was way too slow and incompetent and it wasn’t even crowded. The best thing is probably the drinks. I won’t be returning. I wish I could get a refund honestly—but my friend and I were just so exhausted and hungry from a long days of work so we just decided to stay there and finish the food. The food even made him feel a little sick —please be weary and don’t be fooled by all the good reviews—that’s how I got tricked and lured in, in the first place. IG:...

Customers Beware... ambiance is good for a night out with your partner, very dim with low-light on the table. But do not come if you don't want mediocre food and pushy servers to ruin your night. My boyfriend and I really like the area and we decided to give Thai food a try..... big mistake. Drinks were okay... I got the watermelon martini and my boyfriend got the classic mojito. Drinks were tasty, not too weak but not too strong and reasonably priced.

Now to the disgusting food: I had the calamari appetizer. I order them everywhere I go if they are available on the menu. They were large, the size of onion rings. It lacked flavor, but I did like the sweet chilli sauce they had on the side instead of the marinara. The sauce saved the calamari. Between its lack-luster flavor and chewiness, I do not know which part disappointed me more. On to my entree, I had the pork chop (chef's speciality). Pork chop was extremely overcooked. Some parts were burnt. The only part I liked about my dish was the bok-choy and broccoli they had underneath the meat. Other than that, I only ate 1/4 of my dinner. And to top it all off, server decided to come back to our table to ask for more tip. Have some class and common courtesy. You see two people having a date and you hound us for more money. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be returning. Waste...
