So sad to be giving this place no more than 2 stars !
I absolutely loved Las'Lap when they first opened the food options weren't amazing. The only good thing about this place was the drinks though they were pretty pricy. The space is pretty small but it was hardly ever packed. Once they got Chef Kelvin to make the menu and bring over his signature Arepas they were winning !
I would come here religiously for those Arepas as many people did.
This past weekend a group of us decided to go to Las' Lap for dinner and drinks. Sadly to our surprise they completely changed the menu. NONE of Chef Kelvins signature dishes are available ! I did see on there instagram that they added a few things to the menu but I wasn't aware that they'd no longer have his items.
Nothing on the menu seemed appealing especially since we'd already known the food before wasn't amazing. We decided to go with the Jerk spring rolls. We were able to have 1 each; they weren't bad but they definitely lacked flavor. We then tried the Macaroni Pie which wasn't bad but neither of us loved it. We winded up ordering several orders of fries and sadly just having that for dinner.
Hoping to see more items on the menu in...
Read moreThe tall, bald bartender is the rudest! He is extremely unkind to who he wishes and yet treats some super nicely. I said hello earlier on as I sat at the bar. I came to ask him a question about the drinks and he raised his voice and said "first you say hello and ask mr how I am then I say i'm well then you speak". Everyone turned to look at me. Trying to be polite, I told him I said hello and he said but you moved so now you should say it again. I was utterly shocked at his behavior. I stayed so my friend could finish her drink and observed his behavior. He didn't ask anyone else to have any conversations with him prior to ordering at the bar and he sure didn't dare do that to a man! It is quite disappointing when people display unwarranted and unnecessary kindness. Perhaps it was due to the fact that I was the only person of my ethnicity and complexion there and he was 'trying to belittle me and teach me manners'. I can't think of any other reason for a bartender to request a conversation before ordering a drink. Hate should never be the reason. What an embarassing and...
Read moreif you enjoy Caribbean food - this is your spot! love the vibes and everything. we thought the music was way too loud, couldn’t even hear each other talk but it was still a good time and i’d come back to try their drinks • sweet chili wings 10/10, so crispy and juicy within every bite. it was our absolute favorite! $12 for 6 wings • macaroni pie 9/10 it was so good, not heavy at all, and would totally get it again! we saw so many people having this on their table so we had to get it. $8 • jerk chicken - this was so delicious and full of flavor. i wished the jerk sauce was more spicy but it was still very good! loved the rice and beans and especially the cabbage😅 it was such a good combo! $25 • jerk shrimp sliders - very good! this was served with coco bread. $18
they have so many cocktails to choose from! unfortunately, i didn’t love their espresso martini and didn’t try another drink but my friend loved hers! the espresso martini was not made with espresso for me - very light colored and not foamy. however, the party next to me had a darker drink and...
