Le Parisien Bakery — Restaurant in New York

Went here for lunch after reading all these positive reviews. As we arrived it was completely empty and was welcomed by a counter of pastries and 4 specialty sandwiches. All of which had small flies on them.

We advised the lady behind the counter what we would like to order and was promptly told we are unable to have this as the only things available were the middle section of the menu (5-6 items)

We ended up going for the Nutella Crepe (15$)and one of the specialty sandwiches ($15). The crepe was very bland, had limited nutella inside and for the price would like to think the presentation would’ve been q little bit better. moving on to the sandwich which was basically a loaded bagel. The bagel itself was very hard and stale, this says to me that this has been left out all day. and the taste was very bland and not worth the money.

The service was quite poor. The Lady behind the counter was constantly eating and drinking behind the counter. Normally i wouldn’t worry about this but when we were ordering she was constantly eating and had a mouthful. She also was wearing one glove which wasn’t changed since eating this food and serving customers. Never mind the fact that we were trying to get the staff’s attention for some help and there was a gentleman and the lady who was constantly talking and didn’t take any notice of us (bearing in mind we were the only customers )

DO NOT GO! This was not what I expected or what was advertised/highly rated reviews! I was thoroughly disappointed and would not recommend it if you are hoping for a great dining experience. As a place to stop and grab something, it's fine. I read the reviews of the restaurant, saw photos of their food that are shown on their website and wanted to go for brunch with my family. We made a reservation on OpenTable and showed up at the reservation time. We arrived for brunch and noticed that there was minimal seating and a long line at the counter. Thinking that there must be a dining room somewhere else I asked the employee and he said that reservations did not matter, just get in line to order and find a seat if you can. There was no need for a reservation, we barely found room at the counter to sit and the food was utterly disappointing. We saw containers of croissants being dropped off (one whole container even fell on the floor, hopefully not used!) and the croissants looked and tasted like ones you'd purchase from a grocery store - not freshly baked as you would think for Le Parisien Bakery! Our order was also not correct and we had to wait a while to get it.

If you go far enough back in the reviews you will find some that are similar to this one. In conclusion, I wish we had just walked away to find a place that was worth going to. We had been to a variety of fantastic bakeries in the city and this is not...

I recently visited Le Parisian in New York, and it was an unforgettable experience, thanks largely to Lorenzo, our server. From the moment we walked in, Lorenzo greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm that set the tone for the entire visit.
